Re: Question on phpBB license

I guess that majorlazor has mixed up two things. You may modify your copy of phpBB in any way you wish. However, if you want to make changes and distribute/share this modified work, you will have to do this in a manner compatible with GPL-2.0.

Re: a question about release dates and phpbb

@ttwcevvssad : I would look at this in another way. I also run a lot of boards, all of them being modified with core edits. Currently all boards are running 3.1.5, and if no issues arise with 3.1.8, I'm planning to update them all in the near future. However, I'm entirely comfortable with it because...

Re: [RC] MathJax phpBB Integration extension

Hi, I haven't tested the extension yet on 3.1.6, but I guess nothing should have changed here since 3.1.5. In the ACP, you don't have to accept the terms of use, but by activating the CDN you implicitly state you accept them. I assume that activating the CDN is still available in the ACP; otherwise ...

Re: [RC] MathJax phpBB Integration extension

Indeed, as sergio91pt points out, you'll have to set the path to the MathJax library. Either download the Mathjax library and upload it to your board, or use the copy provided by CDN. Both are explained at the bottom of the initial post.

Re: [RC] Hide BBcode

I've included the issues on the issues page. I don't know, is the issue with the board3portal an issue with that extension, or with this extension? If it is an issue of this extension, I could imagine that this could be an issue, because of this question. Sadly it did not receive any answers.

Re: URL-Button in phpBB

To be more precise, the advanced bbcode box extension does this for phpBB 3.1, which is based on the equally named mod for phpBB 3.0 .

Re: URL-Button in phpBB

You can find an explanation of bbcodes on the bbcode FAQ page. This page is present on each board (To the right of the textbox on the posting page, click 'BBcode'). It refers to this page, you can find an explanation of the url-bbcode here.

Re: [RC] Hide BBcode

Ok thanks for the extra explanation, I've again noted it in github. For now, I guess indeed disabling the javascript 'solves' both issues. The first issue should be solvable with some php (to some extent). The second (javascript) issue I don't know; might be hard. Any suggestions for solving this la...

Re: [RC] Hide BBcode

@FomenkoAndrey Thanks for your input. I recognise the issue you mention here . However, I don't know what you're trying to explain in this post . Furthermore, as for the issues in this post : Referring to https://wiki.phpbb.com/New_Template_Commands_in_3.1 , both the INCLUDEJS and INCLUDECSS stateme...

Re: Which phpbb file requires .php execution

Do you mean, which .php files should be accessible through the browser? I guess this would be all files within the root folder of phpBB (excluding common.php) and download/file.php and adm/index.php . I don't know about adm/swatch.php . But I wonder what you want to do with this, as blocking .php fi...

Re: [RC] Custom Code

That's true; but if your approach is not going to work with phpBB 3.1.6, .7, .8, etc.. (or is it?), I guess then it will be a choice between having a little extra overhead on the one hand, against no extension at all on the other? Or are is there already some progress in phpBB 3.1.7 to make it compa...

Re: [RC] Custom Code

Just a thought; would it be possible to store the user defined templates in the database, and feed that to the template parser, instead of feeding a file? And maybe then put the parsed output into a template variable so it will be displayed? Or have you already considered this? I guess some BBcodes ...

I'm not able to login into the tracker, neither am I able to fill in the captcha. Any thoughts? Do these two have something to do with each other? I'm quite confident I'm using the right password now..

Re: Add custom language file

If you want to do it by modding your installation, this could be a good way: Place your new language strings in nl/myfile.php, and then place this in nl/common.php: include(__DIR__ . '/myfile.php'); The only thing you'll have to worry about then is that after you update, this include() should be put...

Re: Illegal use of $_SERVER.

If you find turning it off is not possible, you might also consider copying $_SERVER into another array ($__SERVER or sth like that) before phpBB does any magic with it. Then just replace $_SERVER by $__SERVER in all your files and you're good to go. Anyways, that's how I've solved it :P . Do note t...
