Re: [RC2] phpBB Ajax Like

I'd like to install this mod on my forum, but the download link isn't working for me (either as zip or tar.gz) could someone re-upload to a different location if possible.

IGNORE - I gave it one more go and it downloaded fine :) thanks.

Thanks for this. Going to create my own theme based on this, so it's good to have something to work with.

Thanks for this, have just installed the Prime Instant Redirect. Installation was very simple and it does the job perfectly.

Re: People that ruin threads

This sort of thing really annoys me, I posted here http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=2167186 and ok there is somewhere better to report the problem, but hey, how about the fact that I actually reported the problem at all? I think most people would just close the page and leave it ...

Re: Another youtube request...

I think this could be achieved with a bit of PHP code such as strstr. The code would be something like: $youtube = {SIMPLETEXT2} //not sure of the PHP relating to this bit of code... $remover = strstr($youtube, '&', true); //to remove everything AFTER and INCLUDING the '&' sign. echo $youtube; // pr...

Re: Top banner question

It is set in the stylesheet that your theme uses. Search your sylesheet for "page-header" or "headerbar" (I'm nor sure which one it will be under). You will find it under one of those as: background: #9a000; #9a0000 = That red colour. You need to change it to #000000 = Black. Once you have done it, ...

Re: Which is better? Drupal Vs Joomla, to integrate with php

Hi, I'm not sure either will be ideal. There doesn't seem to be an official contribution within Joomla to do this. However, have you looked in the phpbb mods area? There are a couple of modifications that will make your phpbb forum into a portal, here's one I found: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/d...

You can decode the URL characters (eg. all the %ed, %e5, type of characters in the url) here: http://www.exadium.com/tools/online-url-encode-and-url-decode-tool/ I have done so, and they appear to be various chinese characters, such as: http://www.handedict.de/en/zi/%E4%AB%A2 So, unless your website...

Re: using phpBB with 123-reg

You may be better off installing a simple classified ads PHP script. These are 2-a-penny, I'm sure you'll find a decent free one just by running a search for it.

Re: Can Google be told to give a forum less priority?

It is risky to try and play around with, as if google DOES index your forum above your main site, that could cause you an issue. I think you're better off leaving your forum in robots.txt and keeping it un-indexed if you cannot guarantee it will not appear lower than your sites results. I say this b...

Re: Spam spam spam

My forum has also suffered from spammers creating hundreds of accounts just to list a website address in their profile (Even though you need to be logged in to see profiles/members list) so it is of no benefit to them in terms of pagerank or anything like that. I have also had spammers posting thou...

Re: best application for a Image hosting site ??

There is an image script written in PHP called "Scripteen Free Image Hosting Script" - google it. I use it myself, it's really simple to edit the styles, and being PHP it is relatively easy to modify the pages to do what you need.

Hope that helps.
