Re: Hiding a .html file and accessing after Login only.

If it is a .html file that is part of phpBB you can probably use the <!-- IF S_USER_LOGGED_IN -->some markup<!-- ENDIF --> template switch, but if the file is not part of phpBB then you can't use phpBB to control access to it. Wednesday, 5 March 2014 Thank you but does that mean that in an .html fi...

Hiding a .html file and accessing after Login only.

Monday, 3 March 2014 Hiding a .html file and accessing after Login only. I wish to place a web page (site) in my PHPBB3 forum for access by registered users only. I have successfully put the files into a sub directory under the root but once the link is revealed anyone can get to it! I need to make ...

Re: Make Stored PDF Visible to Users

I am pretty sure you can't browse to anything in the store folder. Try putting it in the images folder instead. That was good advice "Brf". You are correct, nothing in the ./store folder would load. I moved the file/s to the ./docs directory and they came up fine in my Firefox browser Ver 21.0. I a...

Make Stored PDF Visible to Users

Thursday, 20 June 2013 I have searched the forum for a solution but am a bit confused about achieving my objective. What I am trying to achieve is ; To allow viewing of a stored PDF file in the board or preferably open it in a new window. What I have done is ; Copied a PDF file to my PHPBB directory...

I did that umpteen times BUT a new update for Firefox became available within days (Release 21.0) and that fixed the problem when using Firefox! Browser IE 9 doesn't have the problem.

Thanks to all for the quick responses and suggestions.

Re: Purge and Refresh Mystery

You would have to delete the cached copy in the cache folder. I got 'really' brave and deleted all files in the cache sub-directory (except Index and .htaccess) then checked ACP/Styles and looked at Templates/cache and nothing showed. Re-loaded the page - and the old one is still there! Rechecked A...

Re: Purge and Refresh Mystery

do a control + f + 5 on your keyboard or, just hold down the shift key and press the reload button in the browser. Certainly a handy tip but didn't work on this problem unfortunately. (I used CTRL+F5) if that page is no longer there, you will get a 404 I again deleted the .html file from my site an...

Purge and Refresh Mystery

I have a custom .html template file that has worked, even after the same actions to these. I made simple amendments (as I have done before), uploaded to the PHPBB styles/?/template/ directory (were it was), and the old display still comes up. I purged the cache, refreshed everything, and no change t...

Thank you all. I will heed the good advice. Daffy-7 wrote:especially aged That's an assumption on your part. This needs to be read in context - " especially aged and unfamiliar computer users." POLL features seem illogical

Sunday, 12 May 2013 I'm not sure if POLL questions relate to the base PHPBB3 or to a MOD but someone will no doubt tell me. The POLL feature in the standard PHPBB3, which is a great asset, has some inbuilt logic problems for users. Firstly - I have found my users have trouble because they expect the...

Re: MOD: Customise Member List display.

Thank you for your effort 'Foul' but I can't quite understand the html comment because I can't find "<!-- IF U_ACP -->, even though I am using a style named 'Absolution' I can't find it in prosilver2 either! There are plenty of html amendments to make to the table display as well. It just might be t...

Johnny 'jepsson'
I, too, would like to see how you added the Custom Profile Fields to the Template!
Did it work?
Of course, I am also interested in exporting the user list as you requested.

Re: [TOOL] Import Users

Type in firstname in the form provided in that page and select Single text field and submit. Adjust the settings as necessary in the next two pages. Once the profile field is created, it will show up under the Custom Values section of the Import users page. Thank you 'prototech'. I did include the ...
