MCP font size as an alert

Hi, One of my moderators mentioned that on another phpbb forum, when there was something to action the font size of [ Moderator Control Panel ] on the index page increased giving a visual indication that there was something to action, which strikes me as a clever idea. Any idea how best to implement...

Re: Choosing a hosting service

That's fantastic, and confirms my understanding. I'll take a look at that link, many thanks.

Choosing a hosting service

I recently took over the server side admin of a small forum. Currently US members using At&T can't log on any more our host says its AT&T's fault but whatever the reason it seems that I will need to move to a new host if I am to rectify the problem. As it stands we would have needed to at le...

Is it possible to add a time aspect into newly registered

Hi, We have a trade section in our forum but its only for "true" members so newly registered members can't start threads there however as well as a post count (50 in our case) we would like to build in a time aspect of 8 weeks before newly registered members are promoted from that group. A...

restricting moderator logs

We have a moderator role with few powers who keep their own forum and sub forum tidy with just the option of moving splitting locking and unlocking threads. It would be preferable if we could exclude them from being able to see the moderator log, as it stands its not the full moderator log that the ...

Re: Tracking edits?

There is an overwhelming desire amongst the moderating team to be "fair" sometimes that makes everything very tricky!

That is excellent news that it will be included in a future version and I shall look into the MOD many thanks.

Tracking edits?

Hi, We have a member who is on a different time zone from most of us apparently he's posting inflammatory comments winding up one of the few people on the forum at that time then editing them out before we get a chance to see what he wrote. This has allegedly happened twice and I'm unsure whether is...

Re: Doctoring logs in ACP?

Thanks, Editing the database would require logging into the server then. Hopefully there will be sign in logs available to show the IP address of anyone who has done that recently. The guy who claims this has been done is the only person who would normally be looking after the DB. So unless someone ...

Doctoring logs in ACP?

Finally joined after having read the forums many times! So hello all. I have an issue on a forum that I and 4 others administer. One of the admins has accused one of the rest of us of making alterations to his posts and doctoring the logs in the ACP to hide the fact. Personally I don't think that's ...
