Re: Faulty upgrade instructions?

Oh. alright I see. I will give that a try instead :) Thanks! -k0nsl Those instructions are for UPDATING from earlier versions of 3.2.X, such as the RC Releases. They do not apply to what you are doing, which is UPGRADING from 3.1.x. if you currently have 3.2.0 you should select the appropriate phpBB...

Faulty upgrade instructions?

Hello, I run numerous phpBB3 boards and today I finally got around to upgrading two boards which ran older versions of phpBB3 (3.1.10). I downloaded correct 'changed files' package and did what you always do, no problems there. But the instructions say: As for the other update procedures, you should...

Re: [BETA] AWS S3

Thank you for the answer. I haven't looked at your code yet, but as you say, theoretically there shouldn't be a problem to use it for any other S3 compatible solution. I will check when I get some spare time. -k0nsl k0nsl, using the same event listeners and concept I've outlined in this extension I ...

Re: Free forums

You'd need to create a script which let's people sign up and then either provision the accounts/forums manually or you would need to let the script take care of it by communicating to a back end API (this also needs to be written by you) which would provision the account/forum automatically. If you ...

Re: [BETA] AWS S3

Thank you for the work on this extension. I haven't tried it yet but I do have a question ! Do you think it would be difficult to add support for alternatives to S3 (i.e S3 compatible storage)? For example, I host my own and it would've been nice to be able to use that rather than paying A...

Re: Cloudflare IP support

I'm for it, it becomes tiring to edit a bunch of core files on every new release. Why don't you put it up on GitHub directly and then do the CDB routine? Best wishes, -k0nsl Alright guys, this seems like pretty easy extension. However, we don't have event positioned, yet. If you really want this ext...

Hello Mondriver,

Yes, it's absolutely possible. Here is a clue on how to get started:

Re: "cloud hosting" expereirences?

Yeah, it's a really deceitful marketing term which many companies use to "lure customers". There is no clear definition, either. At any rate, a company who offers anything "cloud"-based must be able to tell you exactly what it means. And what does it mean, or how do you qualify to use this term? Wel...

Re: You Tube Links in 3.1.9 Board

Well, first of all: don't use Flash when HTML5 is available and supported by practically every browser of note :) Secondly, here is the solution I've got for one of my boards. It probably can do with some tweaking and a general overhaul, but for the moment it's "working" and it has been working for ...

Re: Is there anyway to move pictures to another server?

Hi, I don't know if it exists an easy way, as I haven't tried it myself. I am however in a similar position where uploads are becoming rather taxing on bandwidth and disk space. @bsdmike: maybe you could request / inquire about a cdn extension for uploads? there are cheap Amazon S3 alternatives arou...

Re: How to restore original IP on phpbb 3.1 running on CloudFlare?

The 3.0 way is still applicable for 3.1; follow the same instructions and edit this file . I suppose another option could be to deploy a nginx reverse proxy in front of the forum and add the following to it's configuration: #CloudFlare set_real_ip_from 199.27.128.0/21; set_real_ip_from 173.245.48.0/...
