[SPLIT]Working with multiple databases

Im sorry for bumping this topic. I just converted my forum from phpBB 3.1 to 3.2 and since then I cannot make connection to another database. In 3.1 I could use the "dbal.driver.class" to create a connection to another db. It was defined in db.yml in the config folder of phpBB's root direc...

Re: New tab UCP

And is it possible to add a new mode to an already existing acp/ucp module with extension? Like somehow extend the module?

New log option in acp logs

Hello!

I would like to ask if someone can give me a few tips on how to add a new log option in the acp logs. Like there is admin, user, moderate and error logs but I would like to add one or more options there. I'm not sure if I should do it with events or on other way.

Re: Permissions and migrations

With the migration permission tool you can add your custom permissions and with the permissions event mentioned before you can assign it's language variable and a category you want to put it in.

phpbb ajax callback

Hello! I try to use the phpbb ajax callback function in an acp module for my extension but no success so far. This is the template file: <!-- INCLUDE overall_header.html --> <fieldset>     <legend>Ajax test</legend>     <form id="ajax_test" method="post" action="{U_ACTION}&q...

Re: Working with multiple databases

It worked!! There were 2 small mistakes in your post: dbal.extensions_db : <- colon was missing host: ' localhost ' <- no needs for the quotes at least it gave me error when I wrote it this way Apart from these it really allows to work with other database and you saved me a lot of time man! Thank yo...

Re: Working with multiple databases

Sorry for bump but since 3.1.1 already released I wonder if anyone could help me how to proceed with multiple databases on the same localhost?

Maybe this topic should be moved to Extension Writers Discussion.

Re: Cron task in extension

With rc3-dev I tink my cron task in extension is running but it requires a user to be on forum as cron tasks are managed in page_footer function. Is this intended to work like this? I mean if I would like a task to run every 10 minutes then there should be a user on forum on that given time?

What do you mean by register? It was added to my services.yml file.

Re: Cron task in extension

Well it doesn't seem to work. I used your file as reference and the task doesn't running at all. The is_runnable() function returns true and I checked the should_run() function as well which also returns true. My task should run in every 5 minutes maybe that's the problem? Here is the code: <?php na...

Cron task in extension

Greetings!

I'm running a board mainly for testing purposes with phpBB 3.1 RC2 and I would like to ask how can I make a cron task to run in an extension? A simple task which would just update a config variable in a given time. Is there any documentation or tutorial for cron tasks?

Regards,

Re: Working with multiple databases

I guess so.

Code: Select all

parameters:
    host:
    user: root
    password: root
    dbname: effgamin_tracker
    dbport:
I left host and dbport empty as I thought they would be replaced by empty strings.

Re: Working with multiple databases

Hmm it's weird. I used that service definition and my services.yml file looks like this now: imports: - { resource: parameters.yml } services: eff.wiki.controller: class: eff\wiki\controller\main_controller arguments: - @config - @dbal.conn - @dbal.my_second_connection - @controller.helper - @templa...

Re: Working with multiple databases

I tried to solve it on different ways not much luck so far. You could also define a new service like this: dbal.my_second_connection: class: %dbal.driver.class% calls: - [sql_connect, [host, user, password, dbname, dbport, false, false]] (maybe you should import a parameters.yml file instead of writ...
