Re: hCaptcha instead of Google's reCAPTCHA?

Adding another vote for adding hCaptcha support.
As far as I understood it's pretty much a drop-in replacement for reCAPTCHA v2 with just changing some URLs

Re: Privacy concern with emoji

It seems to be the s9e component at fault. It's hard-coded to load the emoji plugin and convert to images unconditionally. For the time bring I've made a hack to it commenting out the relevant lines[1], purging the cache and reparsing all posts from the command-line, but it should be an inherent par...

Re: Custom BBCode problem

Hey guess what? I have very little time to learn arbitrary parser languages because I develop FLOSS software myself. But I'll leave your triggered self alone, and spend my time finding out how to re-parse posts instead of having pointless discussions with people who create community software based o...

Re: Custom BBCode problem

This is a very lopsided situation where users spend nothing and get a software, while developers spend their time and get nothing for it. ... Then don't make it free. Seriously, it's sad that you even want to play this card to begin with. It's not just about change and resistance to it; then playin...

Re: Custom BBCode problem

Thanks, I appreciate your help. You have no idea how infuriating it is when somebody randomly asks something like "Why was it made this complicated?" as if someone with too much time on their hands went "oh, this is too easy I'm going to make it unnecessarily harder on myself and everybody." That is...

Re: Custom BBCode problem

>.< Why was it made this complicated? It used to be very straightforward to create custom bbcodes that any admin could use without needing a crash course in xsl or regex... :/ Anyway, I think I have a solution that works but would appreciate it if you could confirm I'm doing this correctly. The orig...

Custom BBCode problem

Hey folks, I'm having a problem with custom BBCodes that were converted from an earlier version of phpBB. The issue is this: I used to have two bbcode tags for a similar function. One being [issue] the other [issue=], to link to specific issues in either the default repo or a custom repo of the orga...

You know what, never mind if this is the kind of resistance I can expect. Please delete this topic.

Re: Setting up FastCGI caching for phpBB on NginX

I'm aware of that, but considering this is the crowd that would be running phpBB, it does make sense to ask here, no?

Setting up FastCGI caching for phpBB on NginX

Hey folks, There are plenty of articles out there for Wordpress, but I haven't found anything at all whatsoever for phpBB, so maybe someone familiar with FastCGI caching on NginX can help me out here. Our board gets a -ton- of guest visitors and quite the amount of RSS feed reader requests. I'd like...

Re: Disable short URL like in 3.1

I've done it differently to restore the behavior I was used to, combining the solution in the ticket with another edit to make sure stuff between [ url ] tags doesn't get shortened: https://github.com/MoonchildProductions ... c674c7e99a

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.2.6 Release

the removal of the functionality to download database backups I really don't think this is a good move. It's the prime way for admins to make off-site db backups from the web interface ; you should at least keep the option to do this (enabled e.g. through config.php or so). This kind of "hardening"...

Re: Disable short URL like in 3.1

Leave off the http*:// and www. (if any) You can't do that. If the protocol is different than what you're on it will fail. The URL will be wrong. Board runs https and you want to post an http url? Can't do it. Want to post an ftp address? can't do that either... It's clearly a bug that it shortens ...
