Re: SQL errors on new forum creation

Thank you for the reply. The upgrade to 3.2.5 was done in early January. The forum is 15 years old (we started with phpNuke) and has been through a few upgrades. Rather than wade through the weeds and try to rip out deprecated table fields, we just added a default value for the forum_seo_bottom fiel...

SQL errors on new forum creation

To moderators, please accept this repost. It is a follow-up to my prior post on this issue. https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=556&t=2509566 Moreover, I have blanked out my post on the SEO Sitemap extension forum as I do not believe that extension is related to the error message that's ...

There is no column forum_seo_desc in standard phpBB install. Do you have a SEO extension installed?

Have you tried an Amazon link here? If that's the case it should work.
Nope, no parsing here.
Thanks for checking. I checked as well on the demo forum and obtained the same result.

By the way, the link in your signature doesn't work for me. I get "Access Denied!" errors.

Probably the first extension in your list. Your question would be better asked of the author if that is the issue.
Thanks for the reply. The Advanced BBCode Box FAQ appears to state that this media URL parsing is now an embedded feature in phpBB v. 3.2.5.

Re: Automatic parsing of media URLs

Thanks for the reply. I've discovered if I put links to Amazon pages in [url][/url] BBCode tags OR leave off the http:// so that the link just starts with www.amazon.com/... that they aren't automatically parsed as media links. While this might be considered a potential solution, the forum has been ...

Automatic parsing of media URLs

We recently upgraded our forum from 3.0.9 to 3.2.5. Now many URLs to media files are being automatically parsed and display the actual media and not the link. This occurs with links to Youtube videos, Instagram, TED Talks, Amazon Product Pages, Audioboom and perhaps others. The problem is that links...

Search members by custom profile fields

I have added a custom profile field that I use to flag certain members. The field is visible only to admins and moderators. If a problem arises with a particular member, a quick view of the users mini profile will show if the custom field has been set. However, the utility of custom profile fields c...

Re: May I Please Have My Paragraph Spaces Back? :D

The problem that I'm really having, however, is that I like to put extra spaces between my bullet-points, sometimes, to break up the reading a little bit, set individual points, etc. In my post construction, if I hit the enter key three times between list points, I get a nice line space between one...

BTW, the old post you linked has nothing to do with 3.2.x.

You can use either index you want, after researching their relative pros and cons.
Thank you. I'm aware that it discusses conversion from 2.x. However, our board's problems are identical.

Re: Search fails after upgrade to 3.2.5

Just to make sure I'm clear, you're saying to delete the current phpBB native search index and then create a new one and not to create the MySQL search index, correct?

Search fails after upgrade to 3.2.5

We just upgraded our board from 3.0.9 to 3.2.5. The search utility no longer finds keywords in the old posts from before the upgrade. The symptoms are exactly as described in the following post which discussed the problem after a conversion from 2.x to 3.2.x. https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi...

Upgrade to 3.2.x ?s

Greetings,
Will an upgrade from 3.0.9 to 3.2.x preserve the banned email, banned ip settings, and banned username settings?

Thanks.
