Re: Pruning inactive users

Set the post count to 0. ;) I always do that just for insurance. I occasionally purge accounts that have no activity in 2+ years with 0 post count but you could go back as far as you want. I once considered pruning users with zero posts. However, I've found that our forum has several users that log...

Re: Pruning inactive users

Thanks for the suggestion. I found that I could do 6 months worth at a time. However, I randomly clicked on a few of the user profiles that were brought up by this search and found that some of the profiles had been customized, e.g., avatars selected or personal info in some of the fields. This woul...

Pruning inactive users

I'm using phpBB 3.2.5. I would like to prune inactive members, i.e., those that have registered, but have never logged in. I know that the prune function has Last active: field for this which accepts a value of "0000-00-00." However, our database dates back to 2003 and includes 18,435 memb...

Re: Resize Image BBCode

Here's what I wrote. It dynamically resizes an image based on a percentage of the forum column width. BBCode usage: [imgresize={NUMBER}]{URL}[/imgresize] HTML replacement: <img src="{URL}" style="width: {NUMBER}%; height: {NUMBER}%;" /> Help line: Resize Image: [imgresize=%window...

Re: Account activation alert emails

I'm not sure why it didn't work on the gmx.com email address. But it's good to see that it is working with other domains. I'll try one more email domain just for kicks to see if it works there. I tried an MSN account. That worked. Two emails were received, the account creation alert as well as the ...

Re: Account activation alert emails

An email is sent automatically, namely this one: Thank you for the reply. I setup a new account using a different email domain and received the account activation alert email. The first one that didn't work was a gmx.com email address. The new one was using our personal website's domain which is ho...

Re: Account activation alert emails

An email is sent automatically, namely this one: Thank you for letting me know. Does the other board email work? Yes. The board sends out emails to the moderators and admins letting them know of new accounts that need to activated. All of the emails under the notification options also seem to work....

Re: Account activation alert emails

I registered a new account on our forum using a new email address. At the end of the registration process, I received the following message. "Your account has been created. However, this board requires account activation by the administrator group. An email has been sent to them and you will be...

Account activation alert emails

We're using phpBB v 3.2.5 for our forum. Account activation is set to By Admin. I receive an email letting me know of the newly registered account. After investigating the account and activating it, I send the new member an email letting them know that their account was activated and thanking them f...

Re: SQL errors on new forum creation

Thank you for the reply. The upgrade to 3.2.5 was done in early January. The forum is 15 years old (we started with phpNuke) and has been through a few upgrades. Rather than wade through the weeds and try to rip out deprecated table fields, we just added a default value for the forum_seo_bottom fiel...

There is no column forum_seo_desc in standard phpBB install. Do you have a SEO extension installed?
