There are several mods for this going around but this is the first one I found with a fairly good howto. It conflicts with other mods that add "<!-- switch" options to templates/subSilver/profile_add_body.tpl Please note that the "<!-- switch_website" must not be within any other...

This mod is great. I already had some parts of these hacks done myself but I followed these instructions to add some extra layers of security.

[edit] Forget my first reaction, something else is causing this mod to fail. Going to figure out what it is.[/edit]

"Failed mirror" errors while downloading phpBB2.0.

Sourceforge.net is not letting me download anything using Safari. I don't know if it's just me but I thought I'd mention it.

I used FireFox to download it.
It would be pretty nasty if that wouldn't work either because "wget" also doesn't work on SourceForge :(

As someone who hosts several thousands of phpBB forums I can tell from experience that phpBB is already tweaked pretty good. Only HUGE forums will benefit from some tweaking, there is already a topic about that tho. There are a few things that I have noticed to decrease server load: 1. Template you ...

As you might know, in ALL European countries it is the law to offer people automated removal from a electronic system when the proccess of insertion is also electronic. So technically, phpBB offers a system that is against the law to use in over 16 countries (that I know of). Ofcourse nobody cares, ...

current_template_images in subSilver.cfg

Hi guys, I have a silly question I just *have* to ask as because not knowing the answer is driving me nuts  In subSilver.cfg there is a setting called "current_template_images", if i set it to my special image-server it will allow all the pictures from the subSilver template to be lo...

What you are trying to do is a lot of work, it can be done but simply isn't worth the trouble imo. I wanted to do the same for my website but i decided against it because of the huge amount of work involved. Because of the many hacks required you will need to do this after every update of phpBB, som...

Not really a support question is it?
Every language can use *any* template, if you want to fix the template to a language you need to hack it.
What the board does or doesn't show depend on your template :D

This SQL error is usually easy to solve by simply remove the first entry that has the same key as given.
However that key number is rather high, unless you have 8388606 registered users my best guess would be that your table somehow got corrupt.

What is the second last group_id entry in that table?

Did you enable HTML on the board-config itself? Altough I do allow HTML code on my board, there might be good reasons *not* to enable it :D If you do allow HTML, using the HTML-special characters is the way to go. I'm not aware of any escape characters in the bb-code. Mind you i'm not a specialist, ...
