Re: New GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and phpBB

also, the joint press conference between the US and the EU today is pretty promising that we don't have to worry about this, considering the "zero trade barriers" line and the fact that the GDPR is a huge (data) trade barrier... You're mixing things up. GPRD is still there and it's mainly about pri...

Re: After updating from 3.2.1 to 3.2.2, errors replying to posts

@Janus: I think you looked at the wrong url, because I'm not the original poster here, so you don't know my url. :) I'm just having the same issue after updating and I only changed the .css files mentioned. There is no reason for me to lie about that because it would only stand in the way of fixing ...

Re: After updating from 3.2.1 to 3.2.2, errors replying to posts

No I did not modify any core code except for the colours.css and common.css file. During the automatic upgrade it said the original file would migrate my changes into it or something similar. The only core files I modified where done today to see if the "knownn issues in 3.2.2" posted here by Marc: ...

Re: After updating from 3.2.1 to 3.2.2, errors replying to posts

I'm having exactly the same after the automatic update from 3.2.1 to 3.2.2. Same parser, same line. PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method s9e\\TextFormatter\\Parser\\Logger::getLogs() in /home/jnkat/domains/myforums.nl/public_html/forum/phpbb/textformatter/s9e/parser.php on line 199, referer: ht...

Have a look at github. It's a heavy failure on user conversion. ;)

Re: SMF 2.x to phpBB 3.2

Yep, I've seen it, thank you.
I also noted it as an issue with a link to this thread.

However, this quote was an easy fix. The other issues are a bit more problematic.

Re: Converted from SMF - Admin shows There Are No Forums on This Board

Still it could be made easier. @Eggplant: How did you convert, what convertor tool did you use? Dit you encounter any of the issue's like mentioned here? https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=561&t=2444941 Or other things, except for the permissions? By the way...I did not encounter the ad...

Re: SMF 2.x to phpBB 3.2

Great you converted it and we can try this now, but before I try I can already tell you I found an issue before starting to try it. I had a look at the content of the functions_smf20.php file and found the same problem I found and mentioned in my topic (with the fix). It's about this statement: $mes...

Re: SMF 2.0.14 to phpBB 3.2.1

Fixed the quote stuff by replacing " by " in all 4 or 5 lines, which seemed to fix the issue. Now all is left is the thing with the images. Next to that in the beginning of the conversion I've encountered this issue once: functions_smf20.php [ 1456 ]: Post ID: Message parser error: You...

Re: SMF 2.0.14 to phpBB 3.2.1

There is a more harsh problem which lies in the convertor and which prevens me from converting now. Quotes are not converted correctly. Original this quote: [quote author=Black Tiger link=topic=15766.msg91441#msg91441 date=1504617642] Which is probably gotten from clicking the quote button, is conve...

Re: SMF 2.0.14 to phpBB 3.2.1

Fixed. For those interested, since the  is not a replacement for something but is just added during conversion, you can easily remove it via a database query.

However, a direct converter for SMF 2.0.x to SMF 3.2.x would be easier.

Re: how to add Q&A to default captcha

Another thing is that you can combine it with the Stopforuspam extension which also does some good work.
We use 5 questions in the Q&A and it's a good thing to change the questions every 3 or 6 months as the answers get known after a certain time.

Re: new install of 3.2.1 few questions about security, mobile detection

As for spambots, it's best to use a combination. Unfortunately phpBB has no option to use Q&A -and- Captcha, that's a pity. However, the Stopforumspam extension also does some good work, zo we use the Q&A and stopforumspam. You need a key for Stopforumspam, but that's free and you only have to regis...

SMF 2.0.14 to phpBB 3.2.1

It seems there still is no convertor to do this and the support for phpbb 3.0.x is closed. At this moment the convertor works to convert SMF 2.0.14 to Phpbb 3.0.14 from which we can upgrade to 3.2.1. However, some string things are happening, which I wonder if they can be fixed. If double spaces are...

Re: timeout upgrade 3.1.11 -> 3.2.1

Try to refresh the page, sometimes this helps. Another one which might cause this is the memory_limit, try to set it to 256 to see if that helps. Also since it's a temporary thing for upgrade only, set the max_execution_time to 120. Same for max_input_time. Check that post_max_size and upload_max_fi...
