Re: Setting MX Record On VPS Hosting

You need to setup that in your DNS manager, which could be though the administration panel of the domain registrar or the VPS if they have the option to.

You should read the documentation from your VPS provider. This is not about phpBB.

Re: Including classes with include() - allowed?

Wouldn't simply using them with the use keyword work for you? They are usually auto loaded. <?php namespace vendor\ext\controller; use vendor\ext\path\class1; class listener1 { ... } Or perhaps dependency injection if you need an instance? It's hard to say without knowing what you're really trying t...

Re: Cannot get realpath for DB conversion

Assuming your paths are correct, ../subdomains/forum/httpdocs should be the right one. I'm stuck when trying to get the relative path of the old forum Does the converter gives you an error message? home/httpd/vhosts/domain.com/forums.domain.com Are you sure that's the absolute path of your new board...

mysqli_connect function does not exist, is mysqli extension installed? []
If you recently changed your PHP version, make sure mysqli is enabled in the PHP options, in your hosting control panel (cPanel, Plesk, etc).

Re: Link to post takes user to incorrect place

Copy the link of the reply title or document icon:

The URL would be something like:

Code: Select all

<domain>/viewtopic.php?p=XXX#pXXX
Where XXX is the ID of that particular post.

Re: CLI Update Help

You could also simply use php7.3 or php7.3-cli instead of just php when executing the CLI tool.

Code: Select all

php7.3 install/phpbbcli.php update update-config.yml
# or
php7.3 phpbbcli.php db:migrate --safe-mode
The executable should match the one inside (among other paths) /usr/bin

Re: php version problem

Every PHP version have their own configuration file, so make sure you have the same PHP extensions you had previously, like `mysqli` and `iconv` for the ACP.

You can enable those extensions in the same place you changed the PHP version.

Re: Strange Error ONLY with EMails for User Password Reset

That's a problem with the server, contact support for your hosting account. Alternatively you could send email though SMTP, your hosting provider would give you that information. Is the password reset protocol somehow special? What in the world would be special about this, that it would fail? Not su...

Re: And yet ANOTHER post for "directory not writable"...

Make sure the user your web server (Apache) and the PHP interpreter (libphp or PHP-FPM) is running, can read those directories. To find out which user is using Apache: ps aux | grep apache You can give specific permissions to any file or directory using the setfacl command. Example: setfacl -m u:{US...

Re: For the first unread post, what colour is expected for the Subject line's text?

So how do I answer my member's question in terms they will understand. Is the subject line of the first unread post in black text or blue text? It has nothing to do with its unread status, It's black because the URL contains a fragment ( #pXXX ) pointing to that specific post. The subject line is b...
