Re: Finding a volunteer Forum Manager

Hi Paul, Yes that's us! We're hoping to find two people ideally, job sharing to cover three-and-a-half days a week each (unless we can find someone who wants to cover it every day). It really only takes about an hour a day, often less, so is a nice job for someone. I don't know if I am allowed to pu...

Finding a volunteer Forum Manager

Just looking for suggestions... Our phpBB forum is part of a cat charity website, and is hugely valuable to people needing help / advice / support / information. We recently lost our volunteer forum manager/moderator, and have been advertising for a few weeks now for a new volunteer (or two - it cou...

Re: Ex-Admin still able to access ACP

Thank you - sorted!!!

Cheers canonknipser - you were right - the user was still in 'permissions > Global moderators' box. I have now removed them from there, and all is OK now.

Thanks to all for your help!

Re: Ex-Admin still able to access ACP

Thank you for the replies - that has partly sorted things... No, the User wasn't a Founder. I went to permissions > administrators, and their name was indeed in the box - so that has now been removed. As a result that User can no longer access the ACP. Thank you! However, that user does still have t...

Ex-Admin still able to access ACP

Hello, I hope someone can advise please - I think I must just be missing something obvious here... We recently had a change of Admin on our Board. The old Admin's account was removed from the Administrators group and also removed from our Moderators group, and is now only in our 'Registered Users' g...

Re: Error logs re: 'functions_messenger.php line 1909'

I'm pleased to say this is now resolved, thanks to a couple of adjustments on our server, by our hosts. Just for information in case anyone else has a similar issue, it was resolved as follows: (1) Lowered the limit for 'pm.max_requests', (memory consumption for the FPM pool has now dropped drastica...

Re: Error logs re: 'functions_messenger.php line 1909'

Just a brief update on this issue. Whilst this is not definitely resolved yet (I will post back when it is) it does appear that our server hosts have identified two likely causes.... Our server logs showed that our "PHP processes had unusually high memory consumption" and that our "FPM pool often hi...

Re: Error logs re: 'functions_messenger.php line 1909'

Thanks EA117 and Lumpy, very helpful, I've just checked our Error logs again, and there have been no errors logged since 18th January, so (ever the optimist) I'm just going to monitor it at the moment, and hope that this may have been sorted out somehow, (package update on the server maybe?). I will...

Re: Error logs re: 'functions_messenger.php line 1909'

Well, I asked our server host about this, and just had a reply... this really doesn't help at all, but I thought I would post what they said anyway... copied exactly from their reply: " Per your concern we go a head and look some logs but we can't find anything related with an environmental change. ...

Re: Error logs re: 'functions_messenger.php line 1909'

Hi Mick, Thanks for taking a look at that. No, we don't use free emails like gmail etc. I guess we do use ' personal one supplied with your hosting package ' - in as much as we have a mailserver included on our (dedicated) server, on which we have a number of emails related to our organisation. As y...

Re: Error logs re: 'functions_messenger.php line 1909'

Hi Mick, Ok thank you, I'm attaching a screenshot of our current email settings, as suggested. It's odd - we had no errors logged for five days (13 - 17 Jan) and then several of these same errors logged on 18th Jan. Any clues welcome. I will wait to see what you might suggest first, before I contact...

Re: Error logs re: 'functions_messenger.php line 1909'

Hi EA117, Thanks for your reply. I checked the "Use SMTP server for email" setting in our phpBB configuration and is is set to "No". We haven't changed this setting, so I think it will have been set to "No" for years, probably ever since we had the forum. So, I'm reluctant to change that setting, as...

Error logs re: 'functions_messenger.php line 1909'

Hello, I wonder if anyone can shed some light on an error which has started coming up in our phpBB error logs recently. I did a few searches on this forum but couldn't find any posts with this error - so I don't know whether it is to do with phpBB as such, or whether it might be something which has ...

Identifying a colour on stylesheet?

Hello, I wonder if anyone could advise please - I have searched for hours for this, and can't find it... We upgraded to 3.2.4 yesterday, and now need to re-instate our usual colours on our board. I've been going through styles/prosilver/theme/colours.css identifying and changing the colour codes, bu...
