Re: Is it worth upgrading from 3.0.12

I take the chance and ask you: is the zoom feature in today's web browsers sufficient for you to read texts? Or is it not that much of a help, because then most website designs shift/distort too drastically? I keep my page size @ 125% which when I use my reading glasses which is fine for most readi...

Re: Is it worth upgrading from 3.012

3.012 never existed. Well I stand corrected. Perhaps this near 70 year old should wear his glasses. Board version: 3.0.12 Are you milking this one, or do you honestly not see the difference between 3.012 and 3.0.12? It could have been 3.1.2 mistyped also! Perhaps you should re-read what I posted. I...

Re: Is it worth upgrading from 3.012

3.012 never existed. Yes, it is worth upgrading from 3.0.12 to 3.0.14. 3.2.x makes use of external resources and frameworks not developed by phpBB , so it has a decreased trustworthiness while having increased code complexity. 3.012 never existed. Well I stand corrected. Perhaps this near 70 year o...

Is it worth upgrading from 3.0.12

I admin a forum which has been stable for the last 3+ years on the above version of phpBB. Is it worthwhile upgrading to newer software? Not sure what issues upgrading would cause for the forum. I am aware that my version is not supported anymore as well.

Bulk upload of PDF file

I run a watch forum, www.watchlords.com. I was recently given a lot of pdf files related to technical information on about 20 watch brands in folders. In each folder are about 50 pdf files each. What I would like to do is to be able to upload all of the files onto the forum where members can downloa...

Re: Finding an IP address

I hope to able to cross reference it with a user. I have their ip address from another forum but he would be using another id at my place.

Finding an IP address

I have someone lurking on my forum who has told others he is a member there. I reached out to them on another forum but they refuse to tell me the user ID they use at my site. Is there anyway short of going through each and every member to find out who has that IP address so I know their user ID?

Re: Updating from 3.012 to new version

This is the forum http://watchlords.com/forum/index.php. Except for a mobile design by dion and a benglish language pack there are no mods on the forum.

Updating from 3.012 to new version

Currently using version 3.012 on our board, www.watchlords.com. is there a compelling reason to upgrade to the newer versions? Also I wanted to add language packs as well as add a new style or two to the forum. Currently I have my own VPS so I can do as I wish performance wise. How difficult is it t...

Re: Isolating members so they cannot see board

That is showing User permissions, not Forum permissions. So where do I go from here? Do I remove permissions, edit permissions? The permissions keep defaulting back to no despite my having set them all to never. (attachment 3) forum permissions 1.JPG forum permissions 2.JPG forum permissions 3.JPG

Re: Isolating members so they cannot see board

These are the permissions for a test member of that forum

yet they can still see the board when they are part of the dog pound group and still post etc.

Why should I upgrade?

I have a forum www.watchlords.com running 3.0.12 which Dion installed back in 2013 when the board was migrated from forumotion (that was a drag). Since that time I have seen some unstable versions of the software with several patches. At this point is it a good idea to upgrade or just stay where we ...

Re: Isolating members so they cannot see board

Tried to isolate them. This is what I get. I logged in at the end as a user in the dog pound.
