Re: Prevent simultaneous logins from the same IP address?

If you have IE and Firefox loaded on the same PC, you can do it for sure. On the forum on which I'm having problems, you can log in multiple users with IE as long as you do not check 'Log me on automatically each visit:' I also verified it on a pristine installation of 2.0.19. It isn't a problem wit...

Or did I miss your point entirely? No, I think you got it. Although you won't find something called '$lang_select' inside the phpbb_config table. :-) As an example, there is a config_name called cookie_name. If you had your own entry also called cookie_name and you read your values into the array a...

Once again, thank you very much. By now, you have probably ascertained that I am in over my head… Please clarify: Be sure that none of your "config_name" values conflict with existing ones, or the values will be overwritten. If I set up my own array as you suggested and it references the table phpbb...

I would say yes, as I have seen other MODs that do that. If there are values in phpbb_config that the board_config process doesn't know about, they are simply ignored. However, all values from that table will be loaded into the $board_config array. So you don't have to do anything special for that....

Question about writing to phpbb_config table

Is it acceptable for anything other than board_config.php to write to the phpbb_config table? That is, if my MOD relies on configuration values that are unique to my MOD but apply globally to all users, is it okay to store those in phpbb_config and write them using my MOD’s ACP module, which is inde...

database check question

My forums are running fine but I want to move the database to a different server. My backup/restore keeps tripping over this when it does the database check:

Warning PRIMARY and INDEX keys should not both be set for column `session_id`

Any ideas how to correct this please?

You have to restore your site from a backup. You do backup daily, right?
