Re: BBCodeXtra Replacement for Quantum (FF 57+) In Alpha Release

Next version, with the update storage, and conversion code up at GitHub.

Removed. Updating the API continues to break things.

Re: Legal question

Had a similar issue on my board, only it was a former mod who (probably her self-described hacker BF) created accounts with permissions set to "3" (founder) in the database, but not in the admin group, and then used them once a year to log in to say nyah, nyah, nyah. After 4 years (Yeah, I know), I ...

I do not see the point of using BBCodeXtra. Is good for nothing.
What features do you want on my update? (You should post it here)

Re: BBCodeXtra Replacement for Quantum (FF 57+) In Alpha Release

Still debugging, but it looks like the shift from the localStorage API to the browser.storage API will be invisible to the end user. It will be my next release, and hopefully this one will go to AMO. (Gotta pester the graphic artist working on the icons and logos, but he's my son, and I am his first...

Re: BBCodeXtra Replacement for Quantum (FF 57+) In Alpha Release

I just found out that I need to change the storage API. I have been using the localStorage , and I should have been using the browser.storage API. (This is literally the first time that I have programmed in JavaScript, and the first time in 30 years that I have programmed in anything beyond shell sc...

Re: BBCodeXtra Replacement for Quantum (FF 57+) In Alpha Release

Well done. How different is it to the BBCodeInsert you posted a while back, and which I am still using? Edit: I've switched over to your addon and it's nicer. Thanks! It does not (yet) have search and replace on selected text, as BBCode Insert Does, but it does do the clipboard operations. ...

Re: Locking Down My Board

Only a founder can make someone else a founder. Founders cannot be banned. So one of your founders has been up to no good or possibly at some point you locked yourself out and used the SQL query from this site to make an admin founder account to get back in and that person has used it to make them ...

Re: Locking Down My Board

Did a search using SQL, and found some users as "3" who should not have been, though they were not a part of the admin group.

IMHO, one of the people set this up as a back door when they decided to troll consistently.

Re: Locking Down My Board

Being banned won't stop them coming to the site and trying to log in, at which point they will see their banning message. You're probably just seeing a record of that. If you don't want them there why not just delete the account or turn it off? What exact message are you seeing to suggest someone i...

Locking Down My Board

We have some people who have been banned for years, but somehow or other, log into the board every time around this year. I've upgraded the board to the latest version this year, and they still got in. What should I do to further secure the board? [ Forgot to add ] One of the oddities of all this is...

Have an alpha version of a bbCode replacement (including clipboard commands).

Re: Firefox Quantum Addon for PhpBB codes?

Just a note:

I have a replacement for BBCodeXtra in alpha.

It hews as closely to the original as I could manage.

I made that a separate thread here.

You can download a version from my Google Drive.

Re: BBCodeXtra Replacement for Quantum (FF 57+) In Alpha Release

Just a quick note, here are installation instructions. The easiest way is to download the XPI from Google Drive: Installation Instructions The file has not yet been installed in addons.mozilla.org, so you must do one of the following: Download the zip file from GitHub, and rename from *.zip to *.xpi...

Re: BBCodeXtra Replacement for Quantum (FF 57+) In Alpha Release

I now have a tag on my blog for all posts relating to the software (http://40yrs.blogspot.com/search/label/bbCodeWebEx).

Right now, it is a brief description, and a screenshot of the the context menu in action:
