Archive phpbb posts and threads to static HTML pages?

Okay I have serveral older forums that are no longer active, rather than leave them in databases as dynamic content (hence requiring CPU time to retrieve them for reference, I'm looking for a method to convert the threads into static html pages, this way the info is still available for reference, ju...

I don't know anything about curl or what these commands you're using are doing, but shouldn't your syntax look more like this??? if ($ch = curl_init()) { curl_setopt($ch,CURLOPT_URL,($RSS_URL,'r')); curl_setopt($ch,CURL_RETURNTRANSFER,1); $this = curl_exec($ch); curl_close($ch); :?: Could be... I'l...

Okay figured something out... and I think I know why my install and probably serveral others who are trying to get it to work and everything is failing. The mod uses the php function fopen, this has been disabled for my host (and I would assume many others as well for security reasons). But generall...

I know Hyperion was working on it for the next release, but his disappearance makes it a bit difficult. Has anyone found a method or place to put a hook to notify users of a comment being left on their blog?

Works perfectly for me on a .17 board. I've written a bunch of AIML files with info specific to my needs and such...it can really be a lot of fun. My members sure enjoy it.

Got it sorted, change 'URL' => '<a href="' . $row['referrer_url'] .'">' . $url_name . '</a>', to 'URL' => '<a href="' . $row['referrer_url'] .'" rel="nofollow">' . $url_name . '</a>', Geez in 12 hours already caught half a dozen referrer spams from casinos and crap.

Great mod! Very clean and efficient running. Just one simple question, how would it best be modified to add a rel="nofollow" to each URL displayed? I'd rather not have any outbound links to a bad neighborhood, and no real need to ban it via robots.txt, from google. Obviously the line in re...

Dakar, the script already utilises the phpBB user database/sessions. Therefore to place an ad the user has to be registered and signed in to phpBB. Pete Must have been holding my head the wrong way or something and misunderstood something... thanks for setting me straight! Now just need to wait for...

Search function?

Don't know if this has been brought up yet, is there a way to search previous posts on a blog either through the blog itself or integrated into phpBB's search?

If you're only interested in advertising to forum members then I'd agree with you. If you're advertising to non-members then I think that having the Classified Ads section separate is better. Looks really sharp, and I'd definately have a use for it for my forums, but only if it can be tied to the e...

Ok, Now I'm looking for a spyder bot mod where by it mines the database of the board where alice is installed and then transfers or turns the information into AIML files into the iai aiml root directory. Thus I then just go incert those AIML files every so often so my bot will get smarter! A much m...
