User Name in ACP Edit User

This might get moved, but (in my opinion) it isn't directly MOD related. I have a test board that I am gearing up for a release. I've installed maybe 15 MODS on it (using EasyMOD) and have about 30 to go plus numerous changes I want to make on my own. Last night, while I was checking various pages f...

I use all sorts of editors to create the various files used to build a phpBB based site, and I always hated having to publish to a live server just to see the results of my minor changes (I'm a novice, so I'm constantly needing to check my progress to ensure I haven't mucked everything up). I've don...

Perhaps I can create an option to restrict weblog creation to members of a specific usergroup. Being able to restrict blog creation to specific users and/or usergroups would really be a good feature (and I suspect it would be easy enough to implement compared to what you've already done). I know th...

First, thank you to the admins for leaving this open for a little while... As much as conflict needs to be controlled, sometimes its good to discuss the sensitive stuff. These discussions always end up feeling like an "us vs. them" scenario. That's sad. The designers have to keep in mind that folks ...

I've been fighting this same battle in my head (go ahead with what I've got or wait for something that might be better). The new software will have many of the features that I want, but I'm tired of waiting to star my project (I'm not condemning the developers, just saying I'm an impatient person som...

Style before, or after, mods?

I'n just curious. If you are planning a fairly heavily modified board do you think it is wise to trick it out and then develop a style for it... or do you think it is easier to develop a style for a vanilla instance and then style the mods as you add them?

The issue is simply a clash of paradigms. The author of the mod has an unusual point of view (unusual in that it seems to be in the minority), and the mod has been written to reflect that point of view. The mod works... so long as you understand that it gives priority of the time according to the se...

Did Daz have any form of "make a donation" link? I'm hardly rolling in spare cash, but would be willing to scratch together a meager contribution every once in a while. It really is/was a resource worth investing in. I'm so bummed out. I'm in the middle of a project and just know that I would have f...

Yep you can : you can have a full template as a sub-template... ...the less tpl files you have in the sub-template dir, the less you'll have to modify while installing a mod, or upgrading the board... ...The best is to have no tpl files, only css and the image pack. Excellent! Thanks for explaining...

no more Forum Images ...

The other day I compiled a list of mods and various other tweaks I wanted to use for a new project. Several of them came from Forum Images . I grabbed a few of those today while I was working, but when I went back to get another I found the site had been shut down "temporarily". I truly hope this is...

Question... Is it possible to use two (or more) different templates on the forums at the same time. The "sub templates" thing is a very good idea, but on my board I want to use multiple styles that are radically different from one another. So, basically, what I want to be able to do is to run severa...

I've been working on a list of possible mods I'd like to implement first when a new version of phpBB hits the streets... but you've taken so many of those and made them full fledged features already! Looking at your progress has me brainstorming a new site design. Of course very little of that can b...

odd behavior

I dunno if anybody can help here. I don't think the problem I am having is "standard operating procedure", but I have so many different mods installed that I don't know if anybody can tell me what is wrong either. I hate to think I'm going to have to reinstall them all on a fresh copy... When a user...
