merging deactivated users with active users.

Before we converted to phpbb 3 from vb4, we had deactivated some users and deleted the accounts but kept the users posts, now that the original users are back, i was wondering if there was an easy way to convert those "orphaned" posts back to the original owners new accounts? or is this a lost cause...

anyone working on an option like facebook has with their edit posts? i.e when a member decides to edit their post, the system retains the previous edits.

i haven't clicked mark anything read at all, could this have anything to do with the import of threads/posts/etc from the old board to the new board. and I have told members to use the active topic link for Backwards compatability, as new posts and unread seem to only show PHPBB created posts/thread...

Change new posts timeout?

Please don't delete this post as i don't don't how to word the question right for the search or to which thread it belongs, or at least tell me what thread it belongs in via pm thanks. My question is how to change the setting/is there a mod to change the way new posts show i.e I want them to show up...

all i wanted was what was missing, not to have to do ranks and forum permissions again, or to have to do a complete indexing all over again

Change new posts timeout

I am not sure what thread this should go under so bear with me, I want to see if there is a setting or mod that can change the i guess timeout of new posts i.e not by last read, but if you haven't read it yet it stays put under new posts until you do.

ok I do that and it reset the forum permissions, deleted the new ranks I had created reuploaded the failed avatars. What i assumed would be a simple procedure turned into a few hours of extra work to get the forum back up.
