Re: Windows 10 install Issue

It was not until I removed the web.config file that I was able to see a phpbb page at all and do the install. This caused me to yank my hair out for a couple of days. If you enable detailed error messages, you will most likely see the error is 500.19, which straight from Microsoft says this (boldin...

Re: Converting to phpBB3

I apologize for warmweer's post. The rolling eyes was certainly not warranted.

That said, are you looking for support converting to phpBB or just posting the steps you are taking to help others? I can move you post if appropriate.

$db->sql_affectedrows() is the correct way to check if something actually updated. $sql = "UPDATE ". USERS_TABLE. " SET user_password = '$rand_pass_hash' WHERE username = '" . $db->sql_escape($chk_change_user_pass) . "'"; $result = $db->sql_query($sql); $db->sql_affectedrows($result); Minimizes SQL...

So, to make it clear: do you want to pass $my_int_var from one extension to another?
Yes, but even forgoing that function, I'd also like to pass it to other functions in my extension without have to explicitly add it to all my functions.

This any help?

http://www.dinduks.com/symfony-2-using- ... variables/
It helps for ½ of the problem. I still need to make them dynamic.

I'm not fully understanding the second link though. I'll have to do more reading.

Re: Global variables question

That might actually work. Thanks!
I wonder though - will that pass validation?

Actually, on second thought, maybe not. $my_int_var will be different depending on which page a user is visiting. It could be 1 for me, but 3 for you and 2 for some other user.

Global variables question

I have a few variables I need available in all of the PHP files in my extension. Unfortunately, the code is not public (yet), so I'll have to go with examples. $my_int_var = $this->request->variable('miv', 0); $this->functions->get_data($this->user->data['user_id']); Normally, I would change the fun...

Re: Problem Upgrading

Do you have access to the server's error logs? Your host should be able to provide these. Please past the last 10 or so lines (use the [code][/code] BBCode).

Re: server log location in centos to debug ldap connection

Not sure about log locations as I run phpBB on a Windows server (internally only :P ), however I know for a fact that it integrates well with LDAP. This is an old post, but maybe it will help? viewtopic.php?p=14217551#p14217551

Those mini panels are custom code, so I've moved it to the correct forum. What exactly are you trying to add navigation for?
