This is still an issue in 3.1.5 and I'm pretty sure it's a bug in phpbb and not browser- or site-related.

I forgot to mention that that was my first thought too, but the PDFs are part of the DOCUMENTS group, downloadable content is not even allowed on my board.

Okay, of course I find the answer right after I gave up and posted here :D It's not enough to set the rank in the groups table, it has to be set in the users table, too. For anybody that is interested in this (I doubt it :lol:): I chose the same rank_id as group_id, as this makes things much easier....
