This is already part of the specs.
My bad... My brain was melting or I was drunk, or maybe I was thinking about something else. It's all in the specs indeed

Re: [DEV] Encrypted PMs

Overall it does sound like a a good idea. Someone mentioned PGP and I think it's a valid case, but we can go even further. To make it secure : I can imagine a system where you can store your private key into your browser local storage, and the browser will decrypt the message for you - not phpBB at ...

Re: [3.2][BETA] Board Notices Manager

If in the future i want to use the extension and create the notification "Don't forget to do an introduction" for the members registered less than 10 days. If the member did his introduction, he can delete his notification or this will stay during the 10 days ?? You can also add combine it with one...

Re: [3.2][BETA] Board Notices Manager

Would we be able to display it based on the thread/topic? For example if we have a "File Requests" topic can we display "Please read our rules before posting in this topic. Requests for pirated software in this topic will be removed" etc. I guess it's technically possible. But I'm not sure how I ca...

Re: [3.2][BETA] Board Notices Manager

Thanks!

(which reminds me I should wrap it up and propose it as a an official extension. I've been using it long enough without finding a bug)

Re: [3.2][BETA] Board Notices Manager

Yes, you can configure each notice to be dismissible (or not).

You can also force it to be displayed again after some days (if needed)

What's the difference between these two photos? because I can not see any. am too old?
The number of views are smaller, because the extension detected it was the same user refreshing the page (or going back and forth)

Re: [3.2][BETA] Board Notices Manager

EDIT: All I did was clear the cache - all is good again. :) That's good. Quick question though: have you done any update directly in the database before it happened? If yes that's because the extension is using the phpBB cache system. If you didn't change anything directly in the database, I'll hav...

Re: What is the best way to make an extension testable?

I see. Well I did that for a few other tests as well but then I ran into issues where some functions were re-declared. Typically you cannot run unit tests and functional tests in the same batch. I tried with the "separate process" option of phpunit but then it takes 3 hours to complete all my tests....

What is the best way to make an extension testable?

I think the phpBB team is doing a great job of moving the code standards to the right direction: All the new stuff is now relying on Symfony Dependency Injection and that's great. Unfortunately there's still some legacy code in phpBB that you cannot avoid. I find particularly difficult to unit test ...

Re: [3.2][BETA] Board Notices Manager

Cool :) By the way, I'm working on 3 more conditions to come: From date to date (with the ability of specifying only days or months or years or any kind of mix) User registered before a date User registered after a date And I think it's all my ideas of rules for now. So after that I'll move to Relea...

Re: [3.2][BETA] Board Notices Manager

I had a look, and no: phpBB does not store the "first time login" information. So we'll have to rely on the registration date . For that matter, here's the new version 0.5.1: Added Italian translation ( twm49 ) Allow a notice to be dismissed in preview mode (but it's not saved that you dismissed it)...
