Re: User account already exists

Do you have a group by that name on the one board? This was EXACTLY what the issue was. I had a defined user group called test and apparently that also affects username choice as well. Perhaps phpBB should change that? You the man! As to this test account the last two posters are talking ...

Re: User account already exists

Well, I disabled all extensions and I still can't create an username of test. Very odd.

Then again, I didn't delete all extensions' data either.

Re: [RC] Mobile Device

I've got the hang of it now. Here are the added phones I have done so far with their images as seen in my logs. I've spaced out the entries in the function.php file so you can see the additions. Mobiles.zip ''Moto G', 'Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo', 'ZTE Majesty Pro Plus LTE', 'Samsung Galaxy J5', 'Samsun...

Re: User account already exists

Welp, it says,
MySQL returned an empty result set (i.e. zero rows). (Query took 0.0008 seconds.)
The odd thing is that it doesn't happen on my other board. I'm wondering if an extension is to blame, but then again, surely a table would exist of a test username.

User account already exists

I was testing something in my test site and I needed to create a user to do so. I used the username of test, but the forum told me the username already exists. I looked in the database under phpbb_users and that name did not exist.

Any ideas?

Re: [RC] Mobile Device

Okay, tested your two useragents above, and in fact this extension detects them as Android. Doesn't matter if it's a Moto or not. Here's what both UAs show. https://i.imgur.com/cLElAQV.jpg So no new code needed unless of course you wanted to fine-grain the UA to actually say this person is using a M...

Re: Your topic solved extension

I see, it's just a topic icon. Okay, perhaps I'll just deploy this method then. Hard to believe that old topic dating back some 11 years still had the topic solved icon to download. Man, 2007, Using Win XP and gaming/hacking my butt off in BF2, BF2142, CC Generals Zero Hour and a number of other gam...

Re: [RC] Mobile Device

I have a Galaxy S7 and if I can remember right, when I visited my forum with my phone it did say "we detected your Android" or something like that. The image that is used, and the UA detection is based mostly on OS I reckon. So I wouldn't think you would need new code for Galaxy S7, Galaxy S6, Galax...

Your topic solved extension

What extension are you using that adds a check mark to topics that have be resolved? I have the Topic Solved extension, but with phpBB 3.2.x on up, Font Awesome messes with the button so I can't use it. I asked at the extension's post about this and it seems like it has not been resolved and my late...

Re: Odd word censor issue

What words or combinations of words are you trying to catch? I specified in my first post that I am blocking over 100 URL shortners. I should do a look up on any others that have since been added to the Internet. It's been a few years. My policy is that all links need to be able to be seen to...

Re: [RC] Mobile Device

I'd like to have your device code so I can add it to mine. Thanks. I think you have that right. If you look at my posts a page or two back, Sniper does give instructions in detail on how to add a new UA. Better yet, here's the link. https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?p=15095496#p15095496 ...

If your word censor is exactly *g.co*, the that matches Bloomberg.com
Oh! I see what's going on now. I thought perhaps bloomberg was resolving though a Google shortner somehow.

So I guess to mitigate my word sensor from catching this do I need to use g.co* instead of *g.co*?

Re: Odd word censor issue

Um, I said it resolved to Google....

My question was why? Why is a URL of bloomberg.com going to a URL shortner? Bloomberg.com is the URL, not g.co.

Re: Amazon hack?

I run a phpBB forum which is standard in that email addresses are hidden except from three administrators. A member posted on a topic mentioning an unusual product. He has a username that doesn't include his real name and his email address isn't mentioned in any post. A week later Amazon email him ...
