Re: Does Normal WordPress hosting works with PHPBB?

You could even run WordPress or phpBB from your home providing your ISP allows use of port 443 inbound connections. It's all just a word game. I installed my Wordpress site and one of my phpBB driven forums on my computer using Xampp and then once everything was built I uploaded the files and databa...

Re: Three features you would like to see in 3.3.

2FA 2FA 2FA That''s what I want in a nutshell. I mean, it shouldn't be that hard to implement an Authy API extension or built-in facility for the API key. Most of my accounts use 2FA up to and including my domain provider. On my WordPress website I installed an Authy plugin and got it all set ...

Re: SSL HTTPS help URGENT PLEASE HELP

Getting what to work? I use and have used CloudFlare for 3 years with no issues. There are more than one reverse proxy out there. If you know what you are doing there won't be an issue and it will greatly increase your security. Mostly from a DDoS attack. CloudFlare sits in front of my origin IP and...

You could have blocked that SSH breach by properly using CloudFlare.

Re: How to hide contact from guests and newly registered?

And I found the problem. It was the Profile Left extension. I use the Win 10 black theme and had the Profile Left ext on to keep the profile on the left side, but I can't use that. So I tried the Profile Side Switcher ext and that solves the text issue as well as keep the profile on the left.

Re: How to hide contact from guests and newly registered?

It looks like this may be an extension issue. I applied the same theme that does work on my other site and I have the same text issue. Trying to narrow it down is a PITA.

Re: How to hide contact from guests and newly registered?

Okay, I may do that. I did add this code to my other site with a different style and it works. I may just change the style and say the hell with it. The style I'm using is code heavy anyway.

Re: How to hide contact from guests and newly registered?

I kinda figured as much. How do I go about making it work then? Or is it next to impossible? I use the Win 10 Dark theme I think it's called.

Re: Send test email not working

I'm having this problem on all 3.2.1 phpBB forum I created, so something is really off here. And I dont use cloudflare on almost all of them. I'm using php 5.6 or 7.0 or 7.1, problem happens on all of them. But I've SSL on all of them too. John, did you already found out the culprit of this? Maybe ...

Re: BadMash3 Exploit

If it's a server vulnerability then your host will have to look into it and fix that. Your host should offer you a backup once every 24 hours. If your site is altered in anyway then the backup can be restored, providing that backup doesn't have the altered content. This is why you should make period...

It seems to want to work, but the text is off. https://imgur.com/H5DT0tm Here is my code: <!-- IF ((not S_GROUP_1) and (not S_GROUP_7)) --> <dd class="profile-contact"> <strong>{L_CONTACT}{L_COLON}</strong> <div class="dropdown-container dropdown-left"> <a href="#" class="dropdown-trigger" title="{p...

You may want to read my write up I have a link to in my signature. I would also use CloudFlare and CIDRAM. I know the author of CIDRAM. I can help you greatly at protecting your site, although, I'm code stupid. As far as HTTPS goes. Just use cPanel's Lets Encrypt free service. It should be the...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.2.2 Release

Basically, if you have essential core file edits, it's best to keep a document describing them, This is what I do since I had nothing but trouble with the auto update package going back to like 3.1.1. Now I just do an over write and mod my files all back to what they were before. Prior to doing tha...

Re: forum off line...please help me!!!

I think I recognize that error. Some web hosts have PHP configured in a way that prevents DOM from reading local files. I don't remember how it works but it's something related to network settings, somehow. You can test it locally with something like this, which should output bool(true) on a workin...
