Re: Age check before opening forum

This is a simple extension request and I don't see why all the blather. I wouldn't mind having an extension like this as well, but I do have that extension on registration. I manage this by hiding most of the forums to guests and upon registration as being added the newly registered group they can t...

Re: [3.2][RC] Cosmos Banner

Looks interesting, and I may install this since my board has a space theme. Go to my profile to see my site and you'll see. Note, I use Pale Moon as my browser and it too shows a black box around the sun. So as well as IE, and Edge, Pale Moon renders the sun that way as well. In Firefox it's fine. I...

Extension using HTTPS Anywhere database

This is not an extension I need myself, but an idea I have for others that may have trouble with mixed content on their board using HTTP S . I use CloudFlare myself, and in its settings I have an option to fix mixed content. Apparently, CloudFlare achieves this by using the HTTPS Anywhere Firefox ad...

Re: Subscription Notifications -I'm invisible

I don't have this. Are your preferences in your UCP set to get notifications?

Use this extension, then you'll have the BBcode. https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/exte ... bcode_box/

Re: Do Notifications stop?

Is PhBB like this? Not that I know of. On one of my boards, when ever someone adds info to a topic, everyone who has posted to that topic gets an email notification. It should also work to those that don't post, but just subscribe to that topic. Unless that person elects not to receive email notifi...

Re: What comes next after social media?

Same here. I was online in '95, but never had a computer at home. Parents couldn't afford it. So in 2003 I finally got my first laptop, plugged in the phone line and went to Windows 98's dial-up settings and found a dial-up provider and happily handed over my credit card Info. I browsed the Internet...

Re: Permission to view profile warnings

I like this idea and will vote up. But seen as how everyone here is a moron when it comes to new ideas that make sense on new ideas, it won't make it. You might want to go to the wanted section and ask for a paid-for custom extension.

Re: Automatic parsing of media URLs

By the way, the link in your signature doesn't work for me. I get "Access Denied!" errors. The link in my signature goes to my forum. And you were blocked because you're using a very old version of Firefox. If you want to have a browser that was like what Firefox used to be, check out Pale Moon. Al...

The Advanced BBCode Box FAQ appears to state that this media URL parsing is now an embedded feature in phpBB v. 3.2.5.
Have you tried an Amazon link here? If that's the case it should work.
Nope, no parsing here.

Ah, I got the Media Embed extension and Advanced BBcode extension confused.

Re: Automatic parsing of media URLs

It's Advanced BBCode Box. Go to its settings which I think is under the Posting tab in the ACP and disable Amazon in that extension. I believe Amazon has always been a PITA to parse. I use Advanced BBCode Box myself. Edit- Yes, I just checked. The options are under Posting | Media Embed | Manage Sit...
