Re: Permissions

Alleluia. The confusing permissions of phpBB is the only thing that's not making me convert entirely to using phpBB forum software. But I will give it a go for my latest project and with that link you provided Pit$Bull, I'm bound to get some understanding. Thanks once again for your patience, assist...

Permissions

Definitely have a mixture of being busy and lazy at the moment and can't really search the support forum for an answer, but is there an easy or simple way of understanding how permissions work? I don't really get what the definitions provide and it all just looks really confusing to be honest. Is th...

Re: Managing groups

I've had a look through the 'common.php' file and I haven't found anything that is out of place or anything. What file is actually at fault, common.php or functions.php? :?

Re: Managing groups

Hmmm... Something's gone wrong again. I messed up something and I am getting the same errors as before: [phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/functions.php on line 4183: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /language/en/common.php:870) [phpBB Debug] PHP...

Re: Managing groups

Instead of downloading and installing Notepad++, I've just done a search for a Firefox add-on and was successful. I have downloaded something called Phoenix which has a description: Phoenix is an editor which allows run and test CSS, HTML and JavaScript code in a live environment. Phoenix will tell ...

Re: Managing groups

Thanks for the link to the theme JimA. I am having a problem after editing the text and uploading the new file. When I go to my forum, it shows this above the header/logo: [phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/functions.php on line 4183: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent ...

Managing groups

Just a quick question regarding groups; am I able to edit the name of the default 'Administrators' and 'Global moderators' groups?

Also, something else that has nothing to do with the above; is the default theme used here on the phpBB Community forum available to the public?

Thanks everyone!

Re: Points/cash/shop modification

Ah ok, fair enough. I don't think I'll be using phpBB for my hosting service then.

Thanks for the assistance, it is much appreciated!

Re: Points/cash/shop modification

Thanks for the link darkonia. :D

It seems as if that's only the cash modification though, is there a shop modification available in phpBB?

Points/cash/shop modification

I am currently developing a new hosting service and am trying to figure out what forum software to use. I have been referred to using phpBB many times, as well as SMF, however I am unsure what my final decision will be at the moment. Something I am looking for is a points/cash/shop system; basically...

Re: IPB 3 to PHPBB3?

I'd be interested if the converter was available... It is only a matter of time I know, but I can't see myself paying to use IPB for the rest of my life. I am definitely interested in using a free forum software for my main site (the features that are available to me with IPB can be found on phpBB a...

Re: Voting

Awesome, thanks very much JimA. I will think about adding the temporary fix or just wait until the update is released.
