Re: Increased spam activity for meettomy.site from compromised accounts

Like Fred said.

I made progress with the development of the extension faster than I expected. And I didn't want to give any information to the outside world until the extension was ready and downloadable.

Re: Increased spam activity for meettomy.site from compromised accounts

I would guess the compromised accounts are using poor passwords that had their credentials compromised through numerous sources. I suspect the same thing, especially since they were all old accounts so far. So I assume that very weak passwords were used. As far as the email if they were using the s...

Re: Increased spam activity for meettomy.site from compromised accounts

You can already do it with the autogroups extension. I know this, I became aware of this ext while reading this topic. I then experimented with this Ext in my local development environment. This Ext is an effective remedy against the security problem. However, this requires some effort at first and...

Re: Increased spam activity for meettomy.site from compromised accounts

it also looks like legit accounts were compromised. Hello Derky A colleague brought your topic to my attention the day before yesterday. We've been seeing exactly the same problem for a few weeks now: old, long-unused accounts that were previously used for normal posts are now suddenly being abused...

Re: How many extension developers use GitHub?

Hi battye Although the topic is a bit older, it is one of those topics that do not necessarily have an expiry date. ^^ I don't really know the .com community at all, since I'm primarily involved with the phpBB.de community, especially in terms of programming. Therefore, my experiences that I have ma...

Re: [Info] Changes to twig behavior on loading files in 3.3.9

Yesterday we published a variant of Marc's message on phpBB.de. As part of this, I examined in advance what exactly causes the problem when switching from phpBB 3.3.8 to phpBB 3.3.9. Below is the relevant section. The text was translated with Google, please forgive me. ;) Background In principle, th...

Re: Contradicting statements in Ext documentation on effectively_installed()

Thanks MattF The point is, I didn't consider the "Migration" section to be a separate phpBB Dev doc because it addresses both Ext Coder and phpBB Coder. You will also find structures there that were already discussed in "Tutorial: Migrations". The documentation is one side, the o...

Re: Contradicting statements in Ext documentation on effectively_installed()

It's particularly useful in extension updating. It is clear to me what it can be used for technically, but that was not my concern. Can you show me how one migration doesn't change something in the database? Was my statement that a migration step does not write to the DB? There was no question of t...

Contradicting statements in Ext documentation on effectively_installed()

Hello For several weeks I have been working on an update of one of my extensions and also with optimization. In the area of migration, the function effectively_installed() is a point where there are questions. There are contradicting statements about this in the Ext documentation: https://area51.p...

Re: [Info] Using Github Actions to Test Extensions

I tested Github Actions today. Since I haven't used Travis in a long time, I was curious about GA. I noticed that not all tests are run in certain situations. In particular, it concerns the tests that are carried out according to CS, i.e. ICC, EXE and EPV. I deliberately uploaded a prepared Ext, whi...

Re: Some questions and bugs regarding EPV

@Paul It would be helpful, if EPV would give a normal version information with --version , instead of "Console Tool". PicPick_2020-01-09_12-16-36_.png By the way: the online EPV has not worked for a long time. I discovered this a few weeks ago, but I assumed a temporary failure. But it sti...
