Re: BEWARE!! OAP drivers licence renewal scam UK

If you live in the UK make use of the Government agency specifically set up to deal with scammers and shut down their operations. I have report@phishing.gov.uk in my email clients so only takes a moment or two to forward all such emails. Don't include any text of your own - simply forward to that ad...

Re: Anyone heard of this site?

The most pernicious thing at the moment, at least to me, is that some companies are trying to buy forums/social media sites - especially well supported ones with the object of the exercise being to capture members data, their ideas and anything else they can lay their hands on to sell on to their &q...

Re: Firefox issue with phpBB3??

Hey Jim, long time . . . Yes time has flown by - the older you get the faster it seem to go. Still a number of team members that I remember. Still a moderator on phpbb2refugees.com run by Dave Rathbun and my site still running on Ver. 2 and still going strong after 15 years I will try re enabling t...

Re: Firefox issue with phpBB3??

Well David it looks as though you have hit the nail on the head. I have disabled all my Firefox add ons and it has stopped happening. Next step is to re-enable them one at a time to see which is the guilty party. I will post the culprit so that anyone else experiencing this has a solution. This inco...

Re: Firefox issue with phpBB3??

Browser cache is regularly cleared. This has only started happening since the last Firefox update just two days ago Ver. 68.0 I am just anxious to make sure that it is that which is causing it and not something I have done or set up. If others on the latest version 68.0 also experience the same then...

Firefox issue with phpBB3??

Hi guys - hope that this is being posted into the correct area. It is not so much an issue with phpBB3 but a suspected one with the latest Firefox release. On phpBB3 sites I am experiencing, a white page with the links that make up that "page" for a second or two before the page "norm...

Re: Magic screen rant

Would I lie?
It could be that this is what you want.
So cheap you could build a wall between you and the TV and slowly demolish it as you use the bricks as missiles.

Re: Magic screen rant

I have often wanted to do that but with the TV and not the Laptop screen.
Better still is to throw something at the screen that will vent your spleen but not the screen. ;)
Now on Ebay you can find the very thing as there are some traders that sell foam bricks for that very purpose.

Re: How are you coping?

the other major renovation we have made to our economic lives in light of the tightening economic belt is "paying forward." We put aside money for a car payment each month, but still drive our old cars. That way, when the time comes for a new(er) car, the money will be there to pay cash. ...

Re: How are you coping?

Also, people like to complain about jobs being sent over seas. But, they own imported vehicles. Hmmmmm. how about instead of complaining about that, you go out and buy American made vehicles, But that would be importing. ;) Going out and spending to boost the economy is of course a sound idea but i...

How are you coping?

I notice that all the GD discussion is computer related and much of it phpbb linked so here is something different. Most of the western world is in a financial mire due mainly to the action of bankers looking for a profit at any cost and to hell with the future. The net result of this for most count...

Re: How easy on your site?

BTW, Hi Jim :) Hi Jelly. It turns out that my decision to leave the team was the right one as I had been feeling ill for quite some time. Last year I had a heart attack and ended up having to have stents fitted into the main artery to the heart. However I have missed all the camaraderie on here wit...

Re: How easy on your site?

I would click "About" and then click "Contact Us." I suggest that it is not an obvious place to look and that your suggestion that potential users be directed to it would work but (those that know me know there is always a but) I would remind you that this boards layout is non s...

Re: How easy on your site?

Hi, Old man, ;) Nice to be remembered young man. ;) No one has actually said what they would do if they did not get an activation email when registering on this site . The point is that there is no default method of contacting the admin or team member should you not get the activation email. That i...

How easy on your site?

To register that is. Last week I attempted to register on a phpBB3 forum. I say attempted because for some reason the activation email did not arrive. It had not gone into any junk folder either on my machine or the mail server so what on earth to do? Quite simple really - just follow the instructio...
