If you are going to do a full rebuild I suggest you take a look at my little mod to correct the synonym indexing first - it's now been released here.

You need to carry out the instructions in the install.txt file, which include creating the table you are missing.

I would strongly recommend that you install Easymod and use this to install the the search rebuild mod for you.

Yes, that is what will happen if the search indexes are not rebuilt.

Thankyou to the Mod Team for releasing this.

Note that if this mod is applied to an existing board, the search indexes need to be rebuilt to correct any existing entries in the tables. This can be done using chatasos's excellent Rebuild Search mod

three seperate posts or three seperate threads? in either case, the only ones i see hilited are those that match exactly the term i searched for... as far as i can tell, though, they are all found by the search... just not all the synonyms are hilted :?: If you do the posts in one thread I suggest ...

Re: Go to page __ mod? Direct link to post mod?

Add a link somewhere in each post (as it appears in viewtopic) so that any other user can easily copy that link and paste it into his own post. The way I currently link in my posts to other posts is to (a) go to the other post, (b) click 'quote', (c) tinker with the part of the address that reads p...

You've nearly got that as standard.

The little page icon to the left of "Posted" at the top of each post gives a link to that post in the topic. If you copy that link location in to a message it will take you to the post.

That does have the side benefit that you can choose whether or not to include target="blank" which is a distinct advantage. However the thoughts of the mess some of my users would make trying to format an <a> tag correctly... It needs to be something that it easy to use for the general forum users i...

Has anyone done a mod to do this yet? Having had to move my forums to a different location I had to change loads of URL's - not only in links to other posts, but also to images in posts where I had used phpBB images. What I would like is that when posting or editting a post, if it contains a URL or ...

I may be missing something here, but could you not do this with two groups, each group only able to view it's own forums?

OK Thanks. I presume that this means there is prediction of when any particular bug may be looked at. It's just I've submitted a bug here and also created/submitted a MOD to fix it. The MOD team have (quite reasonably) said that until they know which way you go with the bug they will suspend looking...

Bug handling process

Is there a document/post anywhere which describes the way bugs are handled by the dev team? Looking at the current bug list there are reports going back to last July which haven't even been reviewed and yet some recent ones have.

I'm not suggesting you should successfully parse every variation. What is wrong is that you are currently ignoring anything which is not understood. If someone opens a mod with unrecognised lines and saves it again they will lose information without the program having given them any warning. I am su...

"Original By:" is not a valid MOD header option/line. I realise that - the problem was/is what happens when opening an existing mod with headers in a format that Mod Studio does not understand. Previously it crashed in a most ignominious fashion. In this latest version it silently discards all the ...
