Re: Moving my forum to a new host

Thanks everyone that gave their advice, thay helped. In the end, for some reason it was installing the original phpbb3 that helped out and then following direction for the database transfers.

Again,

Much thanks to this community :)

Re: Moving my forum to a new host

No, it's not working. So I want to give it a long shot and try to install a 3.0.0 version (like that of my old forum) and see if that works. At worst, all I would need to do from there on is just update it to the 3.0.2. So, does anyone have a link somewhere to the phpBB3.0.0 (stable release). I rumm...

Re: Moving my forum to a new host

Your idea isn't working at all.. >< Now Im actaully getting irritated with all this. Really, why remove the option to just import a database easy and simple. Why these extra loops of bulls**t that won't even work unless you have 'full' control over things (shell control). Never mind.. that felt good...

Re: Moving my forum to a new host

problem with that is that the new host (along with so many Cpanel hosting sites) create a new DB prefix for you, regardless of how you want it. If I was more secure about it in a shell environment I'd probably have a better control over that. But most hosting sites don't even give you shell access (...

Re: Moving my forum to a new host

I have now tried doing this via PHPMyAdmin to just import the old one, gives me several errors. What errors does it give you? First one I got was: #1062 - Duplicate entry '1' for key 1 Doesn't mean anything to me. Hi, Try this: Linky .... As found in the Knowledge Base ... Des. . . ;) I tried follo...

Re: Where do I install phpBB3?

Start by uploading your phpBB3 folder to your public_html folder (drag and drop the uncompressed folder into the area via SmartFTP, since that's the one you're using). From there on, things should be pretty smooth if you follow the installation instructions from the documents. That is, after uploadi...

Moving my forum to a new host

Hey there, I'm in the process of trying to move my phpBB3 forum to a new host. I have gone and installed a clean install of phpBB3 forum, created the mySQL DB and such. Everything worked well (As expected) Now I want to move the database over to the new forum (users, posts, settings etc.) But unlike...

Re: IP Unmasker

I know it's been a while since anyone asked you this, but any chance of a version of IP Unmasker for phpBB3? I'm ready to contribute a donation if you'll consider it. 8-) I have no plans, currently, to do this. There are a lot of other MODs I want to write for phpBB3 and... yeah... I'm not sure whe...

Re: [RC] NV "Who Was Here?" 6.0.5

Thanks, that helped. However, I encountered a new problem as I finished installing it. Now my board doesn't show me the ACP link at the bottom of the board *scratches head* Any idea what gives? I get this when I enter the URL manually: Access to the Administration Control Panel is not allowed as you...

My apologies for the delay, but here it is.

Code: Select all

SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Table 'databaseName.WWH_TABLE' doesn't exist [1146]

That is the error.

Thanks again,

Re: [RC] NV "Who Was Here?" 6.0.5

Not to be impatient or anything, but is there no hints or ideas out there as to how I could modify the installer to work with my WoWmoonclaw theme? I've tried a few things, but the installer is still telling me that I've got tables missing in the database, rather than create them. Thanks in advance ...

Re: Block Memberlist Acess

True, but blocking out a board memberlist, yet allowing for user searches via PM search feature is sort of a contradiction. They'll either have a list of members or not. I prefer not, so the PM user search option doesn't really bother me much :) Again, thanks for the code. It works better than the b...

Re: [RC] NV "Who Was Here?" 6.0.5

This may already have been covered somewhere in the 55 pages of this thread, but I'm trying to install this MOD with the WoWMoonclaw theme. As I run the installer it gives me an error that a field doesnt' exist, and from memory as it's been a few days since i tried, I think it was a field in the DB....
