Re: Notification only triggered once

The notification manager does indeed check the item and parent id combination. An alternative is, is to create your own notification id and use that instead. So you can set the parent id, to the post id. And then set the item id, to your custom id. $this->config->increment('my_custom_notification_i...

Re: Notification only triggered once

Found it, phpBB will not notify the same user more than once for the same item. The check is located in phpbb/notification/manager.php Lines 329 > 340: // Make sure not to send new notifications to users who've already been notified about this item // This may happen when an item was added, but now ...

Re: Notification only triggered once

I believe you're looking for the delete_notifications() function. See an example here . Wouldn't that delete the first notification? What I want to accomplish is that the user will see all notifications in his notification list, not just the first one or the last one. But I'm guessing that phpBB do...

Re: Notification only triggered once

Because it contains another reason given by the moderator. The whole purpose of triggering notifications on editing/deleting posts by moderators, is to educate members on correct posting and provide them feedback what happens with their posts. Dumb scenario: - First time the moderator shortens the s...

Notification only triggered once

Hi, I'm writing an extension to notify authors when their post is edited/removed by a moderator. I use a board notification for this. When testing between 2 user accounts (a normal user and a moderator): Normal user posts a new topic Moderator edits topic (providing an edit reason) Normal user recei...

Re: Send notification when topic/post deleted or modified

Well, you've a duplicate array key in your subscriber events. You've got core.delete_post_after twice, rather than one with the plural, post S . So you're not subscribing to the core.delete_posts_after event with that event listener. Hope that helps. I see, thanks! I've updated my subscription to t...

Re: Send notification when topic/post deleted or modified

What do you mean with that you are ‘not passing through’ the required event? Does your extension listener not get triggered or what exactly do you mean? And any chance you could show us some code, like the event listener or a github repository? I listen to the event, and I write a message to the lo...

Send notification when topic/post deleted or modified

Hi, I'd like to write an extension where I'm sending a notification in following scenarios: 1/ mod/admin modifies a post and fills in a reason why the post was modified 2/ mod/admin deletes a post and fills in a reason why the post was deleted 3/ mod/admin deletes an entire topic/thread and fills in...

Re: Problem updating database only

Thanks! Tried that approach and it worked just fine. I uploaded a clean 3.3.0 installation, and then updated the config.php with my existing database information, then ran the /install wizard with "database only". I'm not on 3.3.0 with my data. I was confused with other updates, where I could just r...

Problem updating database only

Hi, I'm trying to start with a clean install of phpBB 3.3, and then link it to an upgraded version of my 3.2.9 database. I've installed the upgrade package 3.2.9 > 3.3.0 on my 3.2.9 board Then I go to /install, and there I choose for "database only" upgrade. The installer completes successfully, wit...

Blocking account sharing

Hi, Is there any extension that allows to block sharing accounts? We see that multiple users are using a single account, and we like to block that. Reason is that we have hidden sections, which can be unlocked by fullfilling specific actions over time. Users are lazy and simply share 1 account to ha...

Re: GDPR compliance is going to be left optional, right?

IPs can be considered as personal data, because you can link an IP to an actual person (albeit through the ISP) How does that work then with dynamic IP addresses where several people can, and do, have the same IP address at some point. I would tend to go along with that when IPv6 becomes a reality....

Re: GDPR compliance is going to be left optional, right?

IPs can be considered as personal data, because you can link an IP to an actual person (albeit through the ISP) Usernames can be considered as personal data, because a lot of people just use their real name for this. Posts can be considered as personal data, because I can write "Hello I'm John Doe, ...

Configure noreply address

Hi, I want to update my email settings to make sure that all emails send automatically by phpBB (notifications on new topic replies, new private messages, activate account etc) get a "noreply@mydomain.com" as REPLY address. I want to keep "info@mydomain.com" as the TO address when users fill in the ...

Re: Custom notification - email does not send

Thanks, I will come back to this.

Since I'm currently running on 3.1.8 I will first upgrade to 3.1.9 and see the result on that version.
If still not working, I will post the entire notification class here along with the listener class.
