Re: Database Issues

I'm still working on this...MySQL is being a royal pain though.

UPDATE phpbb_posts_text
SET post_text = replace(post_text, 'Ââ€Ã', '')
WHERE post_id = 759;

Doesn't actually do anything even though it should.

Re: Database Issues

Thanks for the prompt response. The phpbb_posts_text. post_text value contains these funky characters as well.

Database Issues

Hello. I don't know if anybody can help with the problem I'm having or not but here it goes... I have converted my boards from xmb to phpbb...back in 2007 and then, more recently...around the end of 2008, I converted my boards from phpbb 2.2 to phpbb 3. Both of these updates were monumental...That s...

Re: Auto lock topic

Here is my version of the posting.php code...which also works with the quote button in version 3. Interestingly, the old code didn't work. //Check topic last post time and lock if last post is older than 360 days $current_time = time(); if ($user->data['user_id'] != ANONYMOUS && ($mode == 'reply' ||...

Re: Auto lock topic

Here we are....a nice PHP script to do this at a custom level: <?php /****************************************************************** * Script to update topic status to LOCKED if topic most recent * post is older than a set number of days. * * Created for: PHPBB 3.x * Written by: Ray Griffin * PH...

I go to: Users and Groups tab -> Users’ permissions -> find the user and submit -> Select type: Admin Permissions -> Go -> Role: Standard Admin -> Apply All Permissions. I come back to this page for the same user and they are: Select type: User permissions, Role: no role assigned....lol Why? I need ...

"This board has no forums" text

I have all my forums set to private unless you are registered. The board reports "This board has no forums" when I am not logged in; potential users will see this. To me, this is misleading and many people will simply go somewhere else upon reading this. My request is to change this text to somethin...

Lost connection to MySQL server during query [2013]

Upon clicking to mass email everyone in my forum, writing the message to send and clicking submit, I get: General Error SQL ERROR [ mysqli ] Lost connection to MySQL server during query [2013] SQL INSERT INTO phpBB3_log (user_id, log_ip, log_time, log_operation, log_data, log_type) VALUES ('3', '66....

Re: Searching not permitted

Ok, I don't have time to figure out why this isn't working. Not with 4 full time jobs anyway. I barely have time to post this message. Anyway, I'm just going to uninstall...this blows

Re: Searching not permitted

Exactly my question...*cough* I guess I could edit the database. I'll just need to figure out which fields and in what tables when I get some time.

Re: Searching not permitted

Correction...it is set to "Never" and what's really interesting is that this group has a lot of these permissions enabled (set to yes).

Re: Searching not permitted

When I go to "view administrative permissions" under "Permission Masks" and select "Registered users", I see that all permissions are set to no however, there is no option to change this on the page. Ideas?
