Re: Recovering a phpbb install using WayBack Machine

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone is the site on the wayback machine actually the html pages or is it snapshots of each page? if it is not the actual html/css for the page then you are not really going to be able to do this easily at all. even if it is html all of the pages are not usually there ...

Recovering a phpbb install using WayBack Machine

A very helpful phpbb forum that I was an active member of tragically expired several years ago due to the founder's death. The domain has since been snapped up by some reseller, but the core content of the site (the phpbb install) has completely disappeared. I recently discovered that I can still ge...

But will clearing the cookies on your local help other users experiencing the same login issue? I am experiencing the above problem with 3.3 and I'm worried my users won't know to clear their cookies to be able to log in. :|

Charging users to start forum threads - has anyone found an attractive way to do this?

Hey guys, I'll post this to general, because I think there may be several possible ways to go about doing this and perhaps some will come out of this discussion. I am wondering if anyone has thought of a way to charge users per post to their site, or --in my specific case-- found a way to charge use...

Re: Amazon affiliate links

Hi guys,

I'm interested in this as well, but I would like to display an Amazon Affiliate buy button and image picture instead of just text. Has anyone heard of an extension of combination of extensions that can make this happen? Thanks.

Re: Latest posts view

It's strange that a base install of phpbb wouldn't have this as some sort of toggle. Makes sense to display what's new to users as they arrive.

See "Recent Topics for phpBB 3.2" -> v2.2.1 (14-06-2017)

Anyone tried this? I'm afraid of installing an extension after last time's meltdown.

Latest posts on homepage

Hi I know this has been asked before, but the responses aren't super helpful and they seem a bit dated. Can anyone recommend a mod or extension that allows for the latest posts to be displayed on homepage regardless of whether the user is logged in or not? Thanks!

Re: Displaying Full Most Recent Post On Homepage

Hi, We have a forum at http://www.thecsa.co.uk I am looking for a way to display the full most recent post on the homepage. I currently have the site opening on the CSA news forum page but our Administrators want to also display the full last post on that page too. I am new to phpBB, so any help wo...

Re: Straight talk about 3.2 and Adsense - A renewed conversation for 2017

My problem with number 1 is that it is an extension designed for 3.1, so this involves tailoring it for 3.2 and hoping everything goes OK, even in future when updating to new versions of phpbb. Thus, the method has an uncertainty to it, and that makes me (and I imagine others) nervous about using t...

Re: [RC] Adsense & Ads for phpBB

Hi Stoker,

I got Hostmonster to clear the server cache and now the site appears to be working again? I'm not sure why any of this happened. Thank you for looking into it.

Re: [RC] Adsense & Ads for phpBB

3.2

Other ext is just Tappatalk, which hasn't acted up on me in almost two years.

Yes, I manually deleted the cache in FTP. Permissions for cache folder are 777 as they should be.

Thanks kindly.

Re: Overwriting core files without affecting database or style

I guess what I am looking for is sort of an 'Automatic Update' to replace all the files but keep the core design files and ext except that I'm not really updating phpbb I'm just replacing corrupted files. Is there anything like that?
