After upgrading 2.0.4 -> 13 then 14 Users have to log in

After upgrading 2.0.4 -> 13 then 14 Users have to log in twice to access the forum.

Is this a common problem?

eg: http://www.strathycruise.com/phpBB/view ... highlight=

Thanks,

I also dont want to start a fresh, I did that last February when I wiped everything and removed my 1.4.2 board and installed a shiny new 2.0.4

Then spent 2 weeks customising it, creating a new template system and adding lots of mods.

Upgrading from 2.0.4 to the latest - how tricky (with mods)?

Hi folks, Hope you are all having a nice holiday! I've been running a 2.0.4 forum since Feb (previously it was 1.4.2) and dont have much spare time on my hands to upgrade things. This being the case I was wondering how much of a chore it will be to upgrade from 2.0.4 to the latest 2.0.6 bearing in m...

Which mod has been used on this site?

http://passionford.webheberg.com/forum/ ... m.php?f=58

Hover over the "Welcome to PassionFord v2.0" topic and it displays a brief summary of what appears in that thread.

Could someone tell me which mod is this ?

Many thanks

I think I got it sussed :) I had a look in one of the mods I was running and stole this code : <? define('IN_PHPBB', true); $phpbb_root_path = 'phpBB/'; include($phpbb_root_path . 'extension.inc'); include($phpbb_root_path . 'common.'.$phpEx); $userdata = session_pagestart($user_ip, PAGE_INDEX); ini...

2.0.4 Ran fine for 4 months, now giving Page Cannot Be Found

Hi folks, I've already searched and read through the reports on page cannot be found errors but they all seem to relate to new installs. My forum has been running for over 4 months now flawlessly. I've not installed any mods to it in over a month and suddenly in the last few days users have been get...

Creating an area only one usergroup can post in

Hi folks,

I was wishing to create an area in my Commerce forum where sponsors of my site could post special offers but that normal visitors could not reply to or post new topics in.

How would I accomplish this ? Usergroups seem quite forgien to me LOL.

Thanks,

Rikki

Accessing Usergroup info from my own script

HI folks, Is it possible/easy to check if a user that is logged in belongs to a certain Usergroup ? You can place it whereever you like as it doesnt not need access to the phpBB folder. It access the database directly.

Just place it in a PHP script (we use it in main.php) and it should work fine.

Stick that in the part that says :

Code: Select all

print "<A HREF=phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=";
print $news[topic_id];
//print "&forum=";
//print $news[forum_id];
print " target='_top'>";

Cheeky kahts.

Code: Select all

<?

$dbhost = "localhost";
$dbuser = "xxx";
$dbpass = "xxx";

?>
Is the only thing in config.php

Copy that into the above code and it will work fine
