Re: Posts waiting for approval should be visible to the authors

Yes - I can see that there might be complications to handle all cases. However, I am not sure that it makes sense for Guests to see their own posts waiting for approval. A guest, by definition, is anonymous - and if e.g. they are using a public PC, there is no expectation that the next user of the s...

An AutoMod extention

The bad thing about extensions is that if you want to do something very quick and simple (like tweak a template), they are complicated. I had an error with hifikabin's StickyBar extension when I tried to move the settings link from General/Board Configuration to Extensions using System/Module Management and got a php eval error. Spam to phpbb.com registered email address

Dear Admins Today I received a spam email addressed specifically to the unique email address I use only at phpbb.com. Somehow, this unique email address that should only be known by the database which runs the phpbb.com web site has got out into the big wide world. Whilst I am not particularly conce...

Uninstall of Insert After

I have a problem with uninstalling mods which have all inserted lines with Insert After statement in includes/constants.php at the same point. So, mod1 inserts some mod1 lines after "// Additional tables" then mod2 inserts some mod2 lines after the same "// Additional tables". Then I want to uninsta...

Re: Minor security issue

This is a group setting. ACP -> Permissions -> Groups' Permissions -> Guests -> Advanced Permissions -> Profile Tab -> set "Can view profiles, memberlist and online list" to no. I have already done this - guests cannot see memberlist or view profiles. But names of on-line users and newest user stil...

Minor security issue

I would like to report a minor security issue with prosilver (probably also in subsilver2 though I have not checked). I have configured my (invitation only) board to disallow member listings for Guest users - in order to protect the privacy of members from non-members. However, guests still get to s...

ip-adress.com

Apologies if this MOD has already been requested, bt I did search to check... I am looking for a MOD which will display geographic location etc. for a user's IP address as taken from ip-adress.com (yes - it is spelt with one D) in the Admin home page and in the User List mod and in Account Actions. ...

Bugs

In July 2003, GP Hemsley reported two bugs: OK, I've got a few little bugs to report about this Add-On, which is very helpful, BTW. OK, here we go: It mixes up the install and uninstall windows. (i.e. the install window is shown for uninstalling, and vice versa) It leaves a little /* A MOD was here ...
