This isn't an answer to your question. I was wondering why your db name etc is XMB. It appears you may have been running XMB forums at sometime. If you were running a default phpbb2, then by rights, unless your trying to mask which forum software you actually use, then it will have db_phpbb2 instead...

Um whatever you posted as your example of stolen code, you will find that there are tutorials for php, that use the

Code: Select all

if ( !defined('IN_WORK') )
{
die("Hacking attempt");
}
so who stole what. Its in tutorials all over the net if you look :roll:. ITs even in one of my reference books.............

Do most folks install the board in www.website.tld/phpBB ? It seems to be, the majoity of the time, that or forum, or forums Could that be part of the problem? Are the scum searching for that directory ( /phpBB ) somehow? Is that how they are finding the boards? Most likely, but it's going to happe...

Re: PMs HACKING Attempt.

.....then he starts a topic and starts posting the PMs although he posts very old Pms but those PMS are true he posts the screen shots. Seeing as they are "OLD" PM's and not new one's, I would challenge them, to see if its a bluff, they are old pm's, not new ones, challenge them to take shot's of n...

Why does the admin folder etc even need to exist. If you have cpanel, you have access to the databaase. If your also the only admin, heck even if ya have a couple, then even still, there is no need for the admin folder or files to exist, with the phpbb install, it can exist on the admins comps remot...

probably because the fullstops would be a pain and turning the ip into a workable and usable other, is or to me is eaiser then stopping for the fullstops.

Why does the forum software make a difference to he forum? This is the impression you give. If it is a subject that interests you, then the forum software should have no bearing on whether you visit or not! That's EXACTLY what I wondered, too? Shouldn't the content be what attracts me, not the foru...

you are not in the phpbb team, and they won't tell you if there is one.
Oddly enough, neither are you probably.

I'd be a little suspicious if you could actually see the PHP coding without it being run through the PHP engine... hahaha, I was thinking too, couldn't be stuffed typing it though. I was thinking, that would be interesting to see, considering the php script would execute each time you actually trie...

Re: Admin activation being bypassed.

What logs? My host's reporting isn't fine-grained enough to be able to see who accessed a certain page a few days back, You should have some form of logs YOU have access to, with your hosting, via cpanel, or whatever front end you may use wasn't aware that phpBB itself kept an audit trail (though t...

Re: Admin activation being bypassed.

I subsequently switched from user to admin activation, but today I found two further similar users Registered (though no more messages) despite not having received, let alone responded to, their activation requests. After I switched activation over, I did register myself as a new user (with a new n...

With the exception of this site, phpbb.com, does anyone run a plain, simple, unmodded board? I did, but have recently added a few that enhance it a little. I do, unless of course a theme constitutes modded, or removing features you don't use, then no, but I have tried the MODS ages ago, foudn them ...

This has already been answered very appropriately. If everybody could throw their code in willy nilly and we call it official phpBB, wouldn't you call that an insecure release model? Think about it ;) How do phpbb approved MODs fit into that scheme, they are MODs, that are approved by the phpbb tea...
