OK, I stopped work on this ages ago but I've had a few people asking me about it lately so I finished it up to a standard where it can be used easily. It doesn't have any of the features such as minimum post counts and that jazz but if there is much interest I could probably do it, wouldn't be hard....

I had the same problems i found the fix on another thread...check the path to in image it should have no / in front of it aka I was putting in /images/Ranks/image1.gif correct way is: images/Ranks/image1.gif That's not the problem, the problem is that ranks are not being automatically assigned. I c...

Can I try bumping this again, I've got heaps of members now and the ranks still aren't being assigned :( I'm sick of

Code: Select all

UPDATE
	phpbb_users
SET
	user_rank = 4
WHERE
	user_id <> 2
AND
	user_id <> 3
Any ideas would be appreciated.

User Ranks - Not showing up

I could easily be missing something simple here so yeah ;) I already have a few members at my board but I just setup a bunch of ranks with images and such but the users that fall into the rank catagories aren't being assigned their rank :( I have a few special ranks and they are appearing fine but t...

I figured out the problem. $HTTP_POST_VARS don't work under PHP5. I don't know if the PHP group intend to phase that variable out of if they haven't written it in yet but thats the problem. I will probably just add some code to common.inc to create the $HTTP_POST_VARS variable and write all the valu...

I know phpBB doesn't need register_globals, I used to write MODs for it, hence the feeling stupid  PHP5 could well be the problem but vBulletin runs fine under it plus most scripts I have written myself. The biggest problem I have with my build of PHP5 is sockets. I would really like to sort t...

Installation problem

I feel incredibly stupid but I can't seem to get phpBB 2.0.4 to install. I type in the required info but when I try to submit, it acts like its coded for register_globals = ON and just refreshes that page :( Last time I used phpBB it's support for MySQL 4.x was limited but it should be fully support...

John: Wouldn't it be easier for you to use GD for image manipulation as it is bundled with PHP so all hosts using version 4.3.0+ will definantly support it and most hosts using older versions of PHP still have it compiled with GD support.

You will need to do what I have outlined in my post here . Moderators: Can I post a Tutorial in the Tutorial forums? Because I have had so many people ask how to do this that now, as you can see, I just post a link and I don't tell them directly how to do it. If I posted a tutorial, I could post a l...
