Re: Attachment download count not accurate

Thanks for the link, but it seems my setting are correct as recommended in that topic: In your User Control Panel, in Board Prefs / Edit display options Make sure “show images within posts” is set to Yes. There is also a global setting like that in your Admin control panel. Posting / Attachment sett...

Re: Attachment download count not accurate

I actually didn't make the post but they are standard jpeg image files. I have attached the smallest one in the example post I referenced.

Keep in mind that this has occurred in many posts where people are uploading pictures so it's not an isolated event and not just from my own personal posting.

Re: Attachment download count not accurate

See attached image of post in edit mode as requested.

I don't recall making any changes in the attachment setting of phpbb so it should be all default settings.

Attachment download count not accurate

I noticed a minor annoyance on my v3.2.1 board. The attachment download count does not seem to be accurate. It does not seem to be registering the downloads. For example, on this thread it lists the attachments in the first post as never being downloaded which is not the case: https://www.conradjohn...

Re: SSL setup instructions for phpbb

Just an update, but a week in and no errors so for me the two changes above seem to be sufficient. Again, thanks for all the help.

Re: phpBB shrinking?

not really a very good indication of how popular phpbb is. for one thing, people looking for a bulletin board would not know about phpbb and would use more generic search terms. for people that are already using it, they would simply click on the link at the bottom of every page on the board. rober...

Re: SSL setup instructions for phpbb

Never mind, I looked at the code, the end of the line was cut off. After inserting:

Code: Select all

RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteRule (.*) https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [R=301,L]
It appears to be working. Awesome, thank you!

SSL setup instructions for phpbb

This may be a stupid question (I'm a newbie) but I have very little experience with web servers and such things. With Chrome now labeling all non-https web addresses as unsecure with big warning lettering in the title bar, I really want to get https set up. Apparently, my web hosting service (ipage)...

Re: Speed up conversion of old db to 3.2

Not an expert on phpbb but would running the files off of a ramdisk (temporarily) speed up the process significantly? I figure a database update is just an incredibly large number of very small sized file reads/writes. Does it take 60 hours due to harddrive read/write speed limitations or CPU constr...

Re: noob question on forum backup

So to summarize a standard board install (with extensions), the only things that would potentially have board specific files that could not be downloaded from the official phpBB website would be: /files /images /store config.php (the database) And the contents of /store may be optional based on the ...

Re: noob question on forum backup

I only use the official "Board Announcements" extension. Probably safer if I add the /ext folder to the backup list then.
