Re: Site Logo; How do I change this in 3.3?

Short footnote. Struggled with the free .svg editor so decided to splash out and and bought DrawPad . Given the arguments for using svg images thought it would be worth learning to use. Thanks All, privateer I've used inkscape in the past. It's a rather powerful program, probably the most popular f...

Re: Site Logo; How do I change this in 3.3?

GIMP does not have an svg export. It's weird how svg is not supported in many image manipulation programs and even some of the online converters seem to have trouble. I question whether moving the default logo to this format was the best option. The format does have it's merits and is technically su...

Re: Site Logo; How do I change this in 3.3?

Are you clearing both the phpBB cache AND browser cache with each retry? I had to do that as the cache would display the old image. You can always use the inspect element function of your browser to confirm what file is being displayed on the web page you have up.

Re: Site Logo; How do I change this in 3.3?

I always renamed my logo "site_logo.gif" before uploading to styles/.../.../img. But I see the phpBB logo is now named site_logo.svg and the code in "common.css" is different. I also used to change the dimensions and padding. Could you tell me what to do now please. Either make an .svg image, or co...

Re: Extension error in acp after update from 3.2.8 to 3.3.0

Why did you use automatic update? You should be doing the full package upgrade method as advised in the documentation. Did you disable all your extensions prior to the upgrade as recommended?

Default Site Logo format change in v3.3

Am I correct in the fact that the default site logo in prosilver (phpBB default theme) was changed to .svg format from the previous .gif? I upgraded my board (from v3.2.) and noticed the site_logo.gif file was no longer present, it has been replaced by an .svg file of the same name. Any reason for t...

Re: trouble updating database when upgrading from 3.2.5 to 3.3.0

Glad it worked out.

I'm surprised that the 3.3 upgrade documentation does not specify to delete these files (as it does in the 3.2.x update KB article). I'm not sure why these files are leftover with every update I have done in the past but now I make sure to delete them.

Re: trouble updating database when upgrading from 3.2.5 to 3.3.0

php 7.3 is not supported with v3.2.5, not sure if that is causing any problems although if you are upgrading using 3.3 then it should not be a problem. Did you revert to your backup, maybe your database was upgraded (or partially) with the first attempt and that is why it's not giving the option of ...

Re: KB Article on Update gone (new one coming?)

Oh, I see. The KB article listings change based on what version you have selected at the top of the page. My bad. So it's there in the 3.2 listing but not the 3.3. I guess that makes sense.

Am I correct that the upgrade from 3.2.x to 3.3.0 is the same exact process as the 3.2.x update procedure?

Re: KB Article on Update gone (new one coming?)

I just checked and currently have the "io_lock.lock" file in there. But it seems like I always had one or two of those files in there with every update I did. Is that indicative of a problem with my updates? That is why I liked the KB article as it specifically addressed that issue which I think gav...

Re: KB Article on Update gone (new one coming?)

Thank you so much. So the instructions are now in the documentation section of the site instead of the KB article. I think that makes sense. Those "migration" files I was referring are not going to be a problem with the 3.2.x to 3.3.x upgrade? Just want to double check as that had caused issues for ...

KB Article on Update gone (new one coming?)

I see that the KB article on updating the board has been removed. I always used that to do the updates in the 3.2.x line. I've had some quirks with updates (like not deleting the migration files causing problems). It was a good guide. Is there going to be a new article on how to upgrade to 3.3.x? Th...

Re: Guests can search members' posts

I'm failing to see the issue here. I suppose you can argue that you may have personal information in the member profile that you only want registered members to see. Likewise, you can have it open and argue that you want visitors to see everything. At the end of the day, who cares? There is a settin...

Re: Guests can search members' posts

Is it a bug or something you haven't thought of? Why should guests be able to read a member's posts?Fix it please. All board software (including phpBB) allow for guests to read members posts by default. In the rare instance where you would not want this, you can change it in the settings (as noted ...
