Re: phpbb 3.2.7 no backup download radio button

I agree that the select button should be removed, or ideally replaced with text indicating what folder it will be stored.

Re: Automatic Update broke my forum

Oh,... How do you plan to restore any attached files as that information is stored on the server with the rest of the phpbb files and not the database?

Re: Automatic Update broke my forum

Do you still have the original backup of the database and board files from v3.2.4 when the boarding was running fine (and before you started this "update process")?

Re: Automatic Update broke my forum

rommeltje,
I'm having difficulty following all the things that you have done.

Have you tried to simply restore your functioning v3.2.4 board (and making sure it works) and then applying the update per the knowledge base article update instructions?

Re: Automatic Update broke my forum

Well, couple of problems with that. Most of the files have by now already been overwritten by newer versions, including config.php, so a backup of those is not going to happen anymore. I do still have an old config.php, but that's from before I upgraded to 3.2 (from 3.0). Either way, I'm now deleti...

Re: Newly Registered Users able to send PM's? Why?

Ok, I think I got it. New members are both in the "newly registered" and "registered" groups. Then, when they get their first post approved, they are removed from the "newly registered" and are only in the "registered" group. So basically all the "nevers" in the "newly registered" group override the...

Got it, thanks. I think I was confused about the No/Never difference.

Newly Registered Users able to send PM's? Why?

I have my board set up that people who register have to get their first post approved. Once they do, they have the ability to post and send PM's without restriction. Once this approval process is done they are moved out of the "Newly Registered" group and into the "Registered group" that does not ha...

Re: DB backup size much smaller in v3.2.7 vs 3.2.5

I have no idea why v3.2.5 was saving the files uncompressed with a ".gz" file extension? I bet you have used Chrome as your browser when you downloaded the files via acp ;) There is a know issue (Google may callsit a feature) that Chrome uncompresses .gz files automatically when storing them on dow...

Re: DB backup size much smaller in v3.2.7 vs 3.2.5

Looks right, and that's what the text looks like in Notepad++. I have no idea why v3.2.5 was saving the files uncompressed with a ".gz" file extension? Regardless, looks like the size difference was due to the compressed vs non-compressed size and the backups are valid.

Re: DB backup size much smaller in v3.2.7 vs 3.2.5

Ok, so using peazip I tried opening both the older (v3.2.5) larger file and the smaller latest file. It gives me an error about it being unable to open the v3.2.5 gz file? I tried it on previous backup files and same error. Does that mean that all my previous backups were for nothing (luckily I neve...

DB backup size much smaller in v3.2.7 vs 3.2.5

I just did an update from v3.2.5 to v3.2.7. Normally I would just do a direct to computer download of the database from the ACP. The file size of this has been around 13MB in v3.2.5. After upgrading to v3.2.7, I manually downloaded the backup database from the server as direct ACP downloads are no l...

Re: Board v 3.2.7 no more backup download available

Yes, I was aware of that. But as a founder account, I can access members email address, posts, and setting (through the board and ACP) without having to download the database. Is it that downloading the database would just make it less laborious to collect all this data via the phpbb web interface?
