Thought it might be something like that... Ok... thanks for the confirmation.

Re: Forum Permissions - Timeout?

Also worth noting that I get the same behaviour if I select a single forum and then choose to "Select all groups"..

As soon as I hit the Apply all permissions, we drop back to the page where I selected the groups...

Strange indeed.

Forum Permissions - Timeout?

Hit something of an "odd" issue with the ACP on a fresh install... If I go to "Groups forum permissions" select "All forums" and then click on "Apply all permissions" (whether I've changed anything or not). It will just refresh and show the exact same permissi...

[Permissions] Custom Role?

I've been playing with the [BETA] Mini Knowledge Base mod and along the way discovered that it's using a different approach to permissions I hadn't seen or considered before. Now, bearing in mind that I've not touched phpBB version 3.x for a year now I'm getting back up to speed so this may be a &qu...

Re: [BETA] Knowledge Base 0.2.14

I have some problems when trying to set permissions to certain categories. In ACP after select permissions category - category / subcategory - add group - but when I add these permissions do not appear although I defined a role KB. There's something a bit odd going on with the ACL system with regar...

Re: Future of the phpBB2 forums

Everything in my announcement was about phpBB2 modifications only. Not the support forums, styles, etc. Thanks for the clarification :) The decisions to remove the MODs completely is not set in stone. I'm split on the decisions. On one side I don't want to encourage people to install and MOD phpBB2...

Re: Future of the phpBB2 forums

As I understand it.... The 2x support forums will be locked but kept in view as a searchable resource for support. You will not be able to post new topics or replies. However, some time beyond that they will eventually be hidden altogether. Yep.. got that... read only works for me... The MODs secti...

Re: Future of the phpBB2 forums

The support forums are different to the MOD forums. We're going round in circles here Kevin. I'm asking about all the forums for phpBB2 and yet we seem to be discussing different things with no clear answer... I understand that the Support forums are different so can you comment on the support foru...

At some point in the future though they will eventually be hidden. Similarly there are no viewable phpBB1 forums.

Re: Future of the phpBB2 forums

Like I say, if you listen to that podcast you'll hear the reasoning behind all of it. Right..in case anyone else wants to listen to this you need to start listening from 39 minutes onwards. The key thing that seems to be "public" access will be removed... So perhaps I should be asking for...

Re: Future of the phpBB2 forums

As per the very first sentence of that post, it is for the Modification forums, not the support forums. Below is the schedule of the process that will take place to retire the phpBB2 modifications section of this site. The support forums will become read-only on January 1, 2009. Ok... that's good t...

Re: Future of the phpBB2 forums

I'd like to think that some way of retaining the phpBB2 forums could be found in a Read only form As I understand it, that's exactly what will happen. Have a listen to the phpBB weekly podcast #59. It's explained well in there. http://www.phpbbweekly.net/ Really? That's odd because the announcement...

Future of the phpBB2 forums

Given that the mod team are consistently getting hacked off with the way the retirement discussion comes back to various other issues considered off-topic, here's a separate thread for all those who would like to argue for or against retaining public access to the phpBB2 related forums. The recent a...

Re: Discuss: What does phpBB2's retirement mean for you.

Then can I make a suggestion... - Make the forums read only as per the deadlines suggested - Think seriously about a complete forum split where the phpBB2 forums are cast off to a seperate forum/domain/whatever... but not together with the phpBB3 ones. Not quite sure I understand what you mean here...
