Re: $this->request->is_set_post( 'submit' ) Problem in phpBB3.1.8 & MariaDB

where I discovered that $this->request->is_set_post( 'submit' ) is always false. The issue lies into your logic IMHO, it doen's save correctly those settings. MMaybe there is some line of code that sets the submit to false in case of error and never gets back to true. Or maybe an issue with MariaDB...

$this->request->is_set_post( 'submit' ) Problem in phpBB3.1.8 & MariaDB

Hi! I've been using this code in my extension (theme customizer inside ACP) to save settings sent via a POST request to the database: if ( $this->request->is_set_post( 'submit' ) ) { /* all the hard work here...*/ } and it worked without problem until now. Note: I'm not 100% sure this causing is the...

Re: Help with $this->config_text->set

I'm using config_text->set() but it's making all characters into question marks. That's unlikely. You need to check if you're getting input in UTF8 correctly. F.e. using $request->variable() method you have to set the 3rd parameter to true to achieve that. Thanks, that was the solution indeed :mrgr...

Re: Help with $this->config_text->set

Since the topic title is similar to what I'm needing, even though my inquiry is not related to the first post... Does anyone know what method in phpBB can I use if I want to let, for example, users add Chinese characters via an extension? I'm using config_text->set() but it's making all characters i...

Re: Style question

@Arty allow me to disagree. There are at least two great themes for phpBB on TF and the authors are doing a great job to maintain and keep the themes up. Of course you are right about most themes there; but not all. As for RocketThemes, they seem to care more about Joomla nowadays :) OT: It's a very...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.1.7-PL1 Released

personally, I never update any software right when the update comes out unless of course, it is a big security issue. there are always bugs to work out in any software. microsoft has certainly taught us that. :lol: I would give it a week or so to see if they put out any bug fixes etc. That's a very...

Re: [Info] Extension Writer Tools

Notepad++ ? Alright we need to infuse some real (free) text editors into this then ;) Sublime Text - All platforms Atom - All platforms, by GitHub Sublime Text is not free, but costs $70 per user. I will try Atom when v1.0 comes out. Geany also runs on many platforms: Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBS...

As an answer to your question, the code doesn't work because it uses template variables which are not defined in every page :)

Template variables are the ALL CAPS things inside
