Well I am just waiting for my ISP to put my forums back online as they had to remove them last night due to excessive calls to the mysql db :(

Hopefuly the common.php hack will prevent the huge numbers of calls to the db if I read it right as the .htaccess comands are not supported by my isp...

From what I understand the database hasn't changed since 2.06 so as long as you installed the files from 2.0.11 you have the latest version. there is a php script that you can run which will update the forums to read 2.0.11 (it only changes that number in the database) the script is called update_to...

Yes it's a setting in the admin pannel under Genral Admin > Configuration and look in the panel around 10 lines down for 'Enable account activation' set it to user so they have to put in a proper email they can access to activate the account.

disallow faq.php in your robots.txt file on the server to see if these attempts stop. If so it's search engine related. Of course the search engine may not read the robots.txt file but it should

probably best to edit some of that out I'd assume it's best if only part of the exploit is displayed....

Yes if you were hacked before you upgraded they can install various back doors so even after you have upgraded they can still have full access to your forums.
