Unless you've made modifications to core files and do not want to manually re-apply them then DON'T use automatic update. Does the automatic update function well? I ask because looking at the upgrade path from 3.3.0 made me wonder

I have a user that seems to have maxed out his inbox.
He reports he can't delete his read messages.
He's a Registered User

For years I did the Automatic Update and I wish they no longer offered it. It's often more problematic.

Now I do as mentioned above and it goes much smoother.

So I'm not sure how this happened but sifting around, I think I found something curious

Under my /public_html I have my phpBB install.

There's also a sub folder in there called phpBB and it looks like that's where i copied everything into. Not the root folder.

Ah I think i found it...but this looks like a full install and not an upgrade?

There is also a reference to a \store folder in the upgrade instructions, which I do not see in the zip, nor on my site
