Re: [RC] mChat

It seems like such a small thing when you put it in a screencap haha http://i.imgur.com/2MKpL5f.png The area circled in yellow (that empty dark blue bar) was not there prior to installing the extension, and those little icons there on the far right that are now on their own row were up on the same l...

Re: [RC] mChat

Here's how to remove it: How do I remove an icon "mChat" on boards menu? Delete the file /ext/dmzx/mchat/styles/prosilver/template/event/overall_header_navigation_append.html If someone has a solution to add the navbar link so that it fits properly for the Black style please share. I deleted the fi...

Re: Adding a shoutbox to 3.1.7

Hello again Robert! :D On further examination of the mChat box itself, it appears as if it will update every 10 seconds to refresh for any new postings, which makes sense. For a couple of different reasons, the person I am building the site with (an old friend) is mostly relegated to mobile use for ...

Re: [RC] mChat

Hello! I have just installed the newest version of mChat on my server and at first glace I am quite pleased. However, the extension seems to have added a link in my site's navbar that is causing some problems. Is there a way to remove the navbar link to the mChat? Also for clarification, it is not c...

Re: Adding a shoutbox to 3.1.7

Well look at that, mChat works on my site! :D I'm happy for that.

The only thing is I would like the shoutbox on every page, not just the forum index. Is there a way to copy mChat to my custom pages?

Re: Adding a shoutbox to 3.1.7

I did not search for a shoutbox explicitly in the extensions, no. However I did look through all of the "communication" extensions on the phpBB database. This yielded only the Ajax shoutbox, which doesn't seem to work with my chosen style. In my other searches, a shoutbox which I believe was called ...

Adding a shoutbox to 3.1.7

Hello good people of the 3.1.x Support Forum! Straight to it: I'd like there to be a shoutbox of some description on every page of the phpBB website I've created. I'd like it to either be on the bottom of each page, or off to the right of each page. I looked at the possibility of adding the Ajax sho...

Re: Help with deleting or hiding default member profile fields

Just an update: After some initial fumbling around and overcoming the anxiety of deleting and then reinstalling a whole website when you have exactly no idea what you're doing, I was successful in updating to php version 3.1.7-pl1! Also, I learned what a 'directory' is.. Turns out, its just a file f...

Re: Help with deleting or hiding default member profile fields

Is you board live or just being setup? My website is not live, and since its more of a personal hobby site between an old friend and myself at this point, I'm not on any time table. A couple/few days setback isn't a huge deal. I have not installed any mods for my phpBB software, and the changes I h...

Re: Help with deleting or hiding default member profile fields

Well P_I, I suppose I now have a 3rd path to consider: fix the site I've spent two days learning how to make, start again with a new 3.0.x style, or update to 3.1.x and start again with another style with the newest version of phpBB. I just glanced over the page of instructions you provided and ther...

Re: Help with deleting or hiding default member profile fields

Hello! Firstly I'm relatively new to phpBB, I only created the site a couple days ago but I feel like I've learned so much in that time period. <snip I am using php version 3.0.12, and would certainly appreciate any help on this subject. If you are just getting started with phpBB then I would sugge...

Re: Help with deleting or hiding default member profile fields

When I first began, if I clicked the "user control panel" link on the main forum page of the site, it would allow me to edit my user profile, which unsurprisingly had some default fields. The default profile fields in their entirety are: ICQ number AOL MSN Yahoo Jabber Website Location Occupation In...

Re: Help with deleting or hiding default member profile fields

Thank you Robert for your reply and your willingness to offer advice. I have downloaded notepad++ and have only used it once to create a page separate from the forum page itself. I'm terribly bad at HTML which is why I'm in the habit of downloading and saving the files that I plan to monkey around i...

Help with deleting or hiding default member profile fields

Hello! Firstly I'm relatively new to phpBB, I only created the site a couple days ago but I feel like I've learned so much in that time period. My problem is with deleting the default profile fields from the member's profile displays. I'd like for ONLY my custom profile fields to be displayed on bot...
