Re: Change Group for Multiple Users

Of course, thank you. Don't know why I was having trouble with this. Overcomplicating the process....

Re: Change Group for Multiple Users

That will do the trick in combination with the "Remove member from group" functionality, i.e. add users to new group, then remove them from the other group. However, what this process is doing is also setting the "default" group for the user as well as adding them to the new group. That may not be d...

Change Group for Multiple Users

What is the process for moving multiple users from one group to another in the ACP? Can it be done?

Re: Attachment Upload Hangs

Just wanted to follow up on this. It was an issue on the hosting company side. Updates to a firewall caused certain functionality to cease, as described above. Had to "whitelist" particular URL's including posting.php.

Attachment Upload Hangs

A recent issue has emerged and I'm researching possible causes. I've had a few reports that users are not able to upload an mp3 or ogg attachment, although the board is configured correctly i.e. file sizes are correctly set and configured. No issues for many years with this. It's been working, alway...

Done, this request has been developed into an extension. Thanks.
Beautiful work. Thanks 3Di. PHPBB has just taken another step forward with some very useful functionality. Sometimes I just want to be able to post a link instead of a topic. Very useful.

Re: Show a Post Has Been Edited to Admin Only

Remove the Registered users' edit permission and require that edits be done in a new post by cutting, pasting and editing. This way, not only do you know if it has been edited, you have the before and after. Yeah, that's a good workaround. Though my audience is not always a technically inclined or ...

Re: Show a Post Has Been Edited to Admin Only

Here is how it works: 1. - Edit by Moderator - no edit notice unless the edit reason is filled out. 2. - Edit by others - no edit notice unless the post was replied to before the edit. Admins, per se have no post edit powers so it does not make much sense to show them the edit notice but not shoe i...

Show a Post Has Been Edited to Admin Only

Is this possible? There seems to be an inconsistency with regard to whether or not a notification is shown after a post has been edited. Am I missing a permission setting, or some hidden detail? "Display last edited time information" in the ACP has always been set to "yes." Thanks. Any insight appre...

Re: New Topic as Link

Just thought I'd follow up on this. I think this would be a useful feature for a few reasons. What I would like to do is be able to link to other topics within my forum, so as to help prevent the maintenance of duplicate or similar topics that may span the sub-forums that I have. I can see it also b...

New Topic as Link

I saw that this perhaps was developed some years ago as a MOD , but couldn't seem to find any new versions. I'm simply (or not so) wanting to post a topic as a link. I'd need to be able set the "topic type" as well so that the link will be positioned where I want and can be identified in the list of...

Re: Display Full Post - Search Users Posts

Awesome. Thanks for this. I use the forum as a teaching tool, so it's helpful to see full posts in order to evaluate the posts my students have authored.

Display Full Post - Search Users Posts

Is there are modification (to the code perhaps) or setting in the ACP that I can make that will allow for the full display of a user's post when I click on "Search user’s posts" in their profile, instead of just seeing truncated results? That would be helpful to my workflow. Thank you.

Re: Images Not Linkable

The table's name is phpbb_posts (maybe with a different prefix) and the column is post_text. Thanks for that advice. It was very helpful actually seeing how the post data is written in to the database. So, I've stumbled onto a solution. I did a full update to 3.2.7 first, but this did not cure the ...
