There is a problem with your posting_body.tpl file. I suspect you probably misedited something when you installed your mod. I know this because I just spent an hour fixing the same problem. I had an extra comma in a single line of code. I would reinstall the original posting_body.tpl file and then r...

MySQL editing questions

Is there a way to edit a phpBB MySQL database locally? Is there an app that edits those types of databases? My overall problem is that I have a huge database for my forum (94mgs). I have never been able to successfully restore it having used the information from the knowledge base for the ftp work a...

I've gotten that error a few times after doing an upgrade. It's always because the upgrade deleted my styles. The board was looking for the theme (even though it wasn't subSilver and subSilver was present). I just uploaded my themes again and the error cleared. I don't know if that will help, but ho...

Ahhhh, I think that's it. WE have a big moderator list. What's the mod that takes the button away from moderators?

IP / ISP Trace permissions

I've checked the FAQ, the Knowledge Base, and the manual. I also searched the board and can't find an answer to this: I have users who are abusing the IP button on the board. Whenever someone comes in and disagrees with them, they trace their ISP and use the information to "out" someone. I don't wan...

FYI, you can search pruning and get a load of answers to this question. But since I recently researched it myself, the answer is no. A prune does not reduce post count. When you manually delete a thread, it will, but a board prune does not.

The general populace doesn't know I'm working on this, so this will be the best place to see it. BTW, I see it's updating now, but the buttons are definitely not working still. Furthermore, the smilies "buttons" aren't working either... http://www.jellywoodonline.com/bboard/viewtopic.php?p=89970#899...

I have two things going on that are problematic....

1. My bbc buttons no longer work for some reason

2. The RSS feeds aren't updating on the board. It will show the most current post when the feed is created using the rss bbcode, but if the LJ is updated, it isn't updating the feed.

Any ideas?

Notification of Edited Threads?

On our forum, we let moderators edit threads to read really silly things. On EZBoard, it commented on who edited the thread, so we'd know not only who it was, but that it was edited at all.

Is there a way to do this in phpBB?

Ranks and admin_ranks.php

I am trying to add a new rank and all of the sudden, I'm getting an error. I can't get into the ranks at all. Although I'm not super versed in php, I don't see any problems with the file and it always worked fine before. I upgraded to 2.0.13, but skipped 2.012 because I have eTremeStyles installed. ...

Editing MySQL for Newbie

Okay, I'm curious about editing MySQL for a few mods I'm trying to run. I just want to clarify something from a knowledge base article I read. If I have myPHPAdmin on my server (via fantastico), is it merely running the commands through there?
