Re: Force https and www

Quick tip, don't use R=301 initially. Browsers, search engines, etc. will cache the response. This can cause problems for testing and other issues that should be obvious. Once you have tested and are satisfied the redirect(s) are working properly then add it.

Re: Is there a way to block a certain domain from entering the site?

You can block the domains used for registration by wildcard. Before I block a domain I'll first go to ACP >> Users & Groups tab >> prune users link on the left. For the email text input use *@example.com and hit submit. This will give you list of active accounts with that email address. You'll be ab...

Re: Automatically open the last page instead of the first page

No, this is not possible. I haven't tested it but the directions I gave should work for "visitors" assuming the OP is referring to users that are not logged in. You'd have to make core edits to change the defaults when users register and run SQL query to get everyone on same page. (pun intended!) :D

Re: Automatically open the last page instead of the first page

Try this, go to ACP >> Users & Groups tab >> check box to left "select anonymous user" and hit submit.

In upper left of next page select preferences and click go, down the bottom of next page you can set the display preferences for guests.

Re: White screen at permissions tab in ACP

AFAIK if the path is not set there is no error logging. They likely have it turned off for performance reasons. You would need to contact your host and have them enable it. Optionally if you have the ability to create custom php.ini file you may be able to enable it yourself. You can look for custom ...

Extensions? Yes they were enabled. Btw that quote was not from me but was a post on phpbb3 support forum by someone having a similar issue..Thanks For future reference if you are going to quote something from someone else use the quote box so it's easily identified as quote. Re: White screen at permissions tab in ACP

If you want to know the location of the log in phpBB's ACP go to the system tab and click the php information link on the left. Search the page for error_log.

Re: Transfering PART of a forum to a new board

Once you have admin access the easiest thing to do is delete the forum, it will ask you if you want to move the posts inside it to another forum or delete them. Choose to delete and they are gone. Optionally you can just remove access to them if you wanted an archive for yourself. You could even rem...

Re: White screen at permissions tab in ACP

I've never seen an empty error log ,as already noted you should have some errors or at least warnings listed in the error log. Trying to determine what may be causing this is just guess work. The best course of action is to get the server error log working properly which should give you the informat...

Re: HELP How to deal with the "Anti Privacy Act"?!

The problem will have everyone Worldwide with +100.000 User and, or 500.000 Euro Yearly Income. It would not affect everyone worldwide. This would primarily affect people or companies that have a financial or physical presence inside of Austria where they would have recourse against someone not fol...

Re: Transfering PART of a forum to a new board

Once you have admin access and the database what you do with it has no limitations. If you are more specific in what you want to remove you'll get better answers. Presuambly it has a lot of topics or forums you want to remove?

Looking at Customize in ACP, I can see all the old extensions there, with "Enable" (Because I deleted the data in phpbb_ext) so I will attempt to remove them via ftp now that cache has been cleared and see if it still works after that.
Were they enabled before all this happened?

Re: Reputation

Never really though of it as money but I guess it would be analogous to money. To elaborate a little more, you would not be able to give points away given to you as those can be taken back. But what about post/topic reputations? I'm only really familiar with the system on VB and believe when you giv...

Re: Reputation

Most of what I have seen with these in other forums/sites is it becomes popularity vote. I have a prolific poster on my forum that is really nice guy and undoubtedly would have highest reputation, problem is he doesn't really add much to the discussions. Not sure how other software handles it but th...

Re: Remove Email requirment on registration

Sending out mass emails will never be anything i need, and will never need to revert back. That is little used feature, I've never used it. The primary use is for registration, notifications and account recovery. Unless it was small user base of people you have other communications with account rec...
