Re: Errors on 3.1.10 -> 3.2.1 visually

Did a rollback, wiped all the files including other items, copied across named files from recent back up. Downloaded fresh copy of the full package, unzip & delete files, port across. Fingers crossed and go for install. Brill - I now have a very bland Prosilver but all the stuff is there and it ...

Re: Errors on 3.1.10 -> 3.2.1 visually

I used a second website to load PHPBB via Softalicious and it went through perfectly with the blue edged tables. I have asked for a rollback as my own upgrade did not go through perfectly. Can anyone explain why I am getting the yellow background and no table edges showing please? forum.jpg I suppos...

Re: Errors on 3.1.10 -> 3.2.1 visually

Is there a chance I could store the database, wipe the lot and make a clean install, then use the stored DB?

If not then it is rollback.

Re: Errors on 3.1.10 -> 3.2.1 visually

navbar_header.html

Cut out the existing links.

Just have to remember where the colour scheme comes into play. Not sure if it is CSS or HTML - most likely the one I pick last.

Thanks.

Re: Errors on 3.1.10 -> 3.2.1 visually

That makes sense.

Errors on 3.1.10 -> 3.2.1 visually

I have been using PHPBB since V2. Never seen such a bad upgrade. I disabled all the extensions. Took a backup of files (including a copy to my PC), and asked the host for a special copy so I can do a rollback as a last resort. Can someone explain why I have a yellow background, no tables, two MCP li...

Re: Upgrade to 3.2 Cannot update database

Forget it folks. A complete waste of my life.

I am doing a rollback to 3.1.10 which works perfect. The server people will do it shortly and I can then get on with my life.

I will wait until PHPBB4 I reckon.

Goodnight all & thanks.

Re: Upgrade to 3.2 Cannot update database

That is what I saw the first time. My comment was a reference given in the instructions about if given the options.

Re: Upgrade to 3.2 Cannot update database

Store folder - I posted what was in it on my original post.

I cannot clear the cache as the installation did not finalise - that is what I am reporting as a problem!

Re: Upgrade to 3.2 Cannot update database

Thanks.

One of the first things I read & did, but it did not work.

I notice PHPBB3.2 is the January version - I would have expected some tweaks there by now.

Re: Upgrade to 3.2 Cannot update database

I suppose one option might be to wipe the whole thing and try to load the DB up again. Have to keep the same board name to match the DB header.

Actually, I might go for that as I have not requested the rollback yet.

Re: Upgrade to 3.2 Cannot update database

I just tried moving from 3.1.10, followed everything exactly and I am getting the timeout error. By the way, I did not get an option to merge, just over-write. I am using PHP5.6.30. I deleted the files as told but no difference. I tried again and nothing, not even a % progress bar. But it did show t...

Re: moving from 3.1.10 - 3.2

Please stay on-topic here. This is not a discussion topic but rather a support topic to resolve the issues from the topic starter. If you disagree with the procedure around upgrades you can either start a topic in phpBB Discussion or (better) create an RFC on Area51 to gather opinions on changing t...

Re: moving from 3.1.10 - 3.2

UPDATE: I restored files and the DB but the system kept on with ERROR 500. I asked my hosts to restore the DB from a backup (today) in case my own restore had not worked. I asked them to check the 500 first. Seems like there was an error after all guys: The issue was caused due to incorrect syntax ...

Re: moving from 3.1.10 - 3.2

Never mind Paul. I will do the rollback and reinsert any missing posts, even if they are quite a few they were just to close threads mostly. I hope. I think I will stay with 3.1.10 for the next year or so then think about moving to another form of Forum. That or resigning. I have been doing this sin...
