Hey fleccy, Just a short question. My MySQL tables for phpBB don't use the standard phpbb_ prefix. The problem is that the chatroom will look for things as 'phpbb_c_messages' as where it should look for ff_c_messages in my case. Where are the actual queries, so that I can adjust them to my specific ...

Viewforum => make unread/new topics stand out

Hey all, I'm looking for a way to make unread/new topics stand out more. What I had in mind is to give all read topics a simple normal link and the unread ones a bold link. What I figured out is that I have to edit/add stuff to these few lines in viewforum.php: if( $unread_topics ) { $folder_image =...

howto limit minimum fontsize

Hey all, I'm actually not requesting a mod, just want to know how to achieve this: As most of you are aware you can set the fontsize of a post via some text Now I am wondering on how to make a minimum fontsize, because some users on my forum think it's funny to post stuff in size=1 wh...

Depends on the settings of your webhost. Usually round 1mb maybe 5mb. I'd go for the 1mb. It would be even better if you would have telnet/ssh access, then you could simply dump and restore it in one go. Backup: mysqldump -u username -p databasename > forum_backup.sql Restore: mysql -u username -p d...

the easiest way is to install another theme, then set the new theme as the default one, delete subsilver, delete all the subsilver files. Then simply reupload the subSilver from your phpBB zip file and add it via the theme management in your Admin CP. Don't forget to set it as the default afterwards.

Changing main admin...

The guy who initially set up the forums has left a year ago and I took over as the admin. Now I've installed a hack which sends out a PM on registration and it is send from the mainadmin account, which is still the guy who left the forum a year ago. As far as I can see, the main admin is identified ...

You could set up a specific usergroup and only allow them access to that one specific forum..
