AFAIK pruning dosent effect post count.

as for deleting posts what I do is move them to a hidden forum and set that forum to be pruned every 24hours, then it dosent effect post counts.

it dosent matter where you put them, but to make it easier to find in the future and to keep it tidy, put them in the section with the heading:

works fine for me. You are using a *nix system so the url is case sensitive.
i.e. /phpBB2/ not /phpbb2/

the bbcode it breaks is the php bbcode mod, which allows use of the [php] bbcode tag which makes your phpcode in posts all nice and pretty colours (like my signature) If you don't have that mod installed, you have nothing to worry about

phpbb2.2 looks good so far.

are you chosing the save or open command from the dialogue box when you click the download link? because if you click the open command IE likes to append [1] to the end of the file, so you end up with *.zip[1] which winzip dosent understand.

If you join any major mailing list, you will find that the to e-mail address is not yours, it may be something like list@domain.com. This is done for users privacy so each user dosent receive a list of everyones e-mail address for their spamming pleasure. I think phpBB has been done like this not on...

phpnuke is the most overused peice of crap ever. It was ok when it first came out and only a few people used it, but now it is too common and makes your site look rubbish. I say write your own CMS, it's not that difficult.

In the admin control panel, what is your script path and domain set to? and what is the server port set to? Do you get any errors? could you provide us with an activation link to see if there is any errors in the url.
