Re: Discuss: Significant phpBB (development) changes

however, i would be very interested to know how many of the international support boards actually took Acyd on his offer and upgraded? Actually, we are still running on phpBB2. Had no time to upgrade, and more importantly we would like to make a new design, but none of the staff members are good at...

Re: BBCode-safe truncating of text

Sorry for the late reply, I have meant to reply to this for a long time, just haven't gotten to it. It took me some time to figure out/remember, but it's turned out that I made a very bad decision when naming the $bbcode_name variable, as it is an array (which is populated at the beginning of the sc...

Re: 3.0.3 to 3.0.4 -- language update?

Thank you. Finally, how can I tell which should be updated? Here, http://www.phpbb.com/languages/, the packs all have different dates on which they were updated. Should I just update those language packs that have been updated since, say December 1, 2008? Yes, it would be a good idea to update the ...

Re: 3.0.3 to 3.0.4 -- language update?

You don't have to reinstall the language packs, you just have to overwrite the old files with the new ones. In my opinion language packs should always be updated. An outdated language pack doesn't always cause an apparent error, but in 3.0.4 there was a significant change: the new relative date disp...

Re: "Creating Communities"

There is an old script for Hungarian, it is not even in the Unicode, but I attach an image of it here in case you are interested.

Re: Magyar pack

Hi,

This error is not connected to the language pack, a default language pack doesn't contain (or need to contain) a file called gym_common.php. Probably you installed a MOD which doesn't have a Hungarian translation, hence the error.

Re: [RELEASE] Dark-Shines (for Gold 3.0.2)

Hi *Christian*,

This style looks really great, and I would like to use it for a Hungarian board. If you have a .psd, could you send it to me, so I could create Hungarian buttons for it?

Re: Hungarian language pack?

Sorry, only English is allowed on this board (in the public forums), so I will write in English. You aren't using phpBB in its proper form, but a modified version which only your host can modify. Thus you will have to ask your host to install the Hungarian language pack. BTW these phpBB boards that ...

Re: Hungarian language pack?

For instructions on how to install the language pack see the language packs download page (in the side menu on the right there is an Installation link). After installing it you can select your language in your profile, or can set the default language in the Administration Panel (under General -> Boa...

Re: Hungarian language pack?

PhpBB has already been translated to Hungarian. You can find the language pack at the phpBB2 language packs page. Moreover there also exists a Hungarian phpBB support site which is located at phpbb.hu.

BBCode-safe truncating of text

I plan to write an Advanced Syndication MOD and as a part of that I have written the following function which truncates text to a given length, and closes BBCode tags that remained open, so the parsed result will always be XHTML valid. I think others could use this as well and I've already seen othe...

Originally in the Community Coding Projects

If I remember correctly there was a community coding project that would add RSS functionality. I don't know whether there was any applicant but as far as I know it was stated that these features will go into 3.2. So there must be an intention to include RSS, only the developers don't have enough tim...
