Re: Updating Order

Can we expect a 3.2.11 release in the future with the listed bugs from the tracker fixed, and possibly further updates afterwards with security issues patched? Not necessarily, no. As part of the release routine once a release is done for a version then any outstanding tickets for that version are ...

Re: [3.2][3.3][RC] Topic Title Color

It's just the standard color picker that's included with phpBB. I decided not to deviate from that when I initially created this since it would mean having to build it or include some extra library.

Re: [3.2][RC] Topic Title Color

It was updated in May to work with 3.3. And no there is no permission for the feature right now. Once you enable it everyone gets it. There is an enhancement planned for later here: https://github.com/DavidIQ/topictitlecolor/issues/9

Re: Plain text whole forum. Latest 3.3

This has been fixed. For future reference: On a Windows Server, after installing PHP, index.php should be added as a default document in IIS (I thought that the PHP package installation did that, but apparently not). In the case of this setup it wasn't an available default doc so whenever one visite...

Re: WYSIWYG editor and phpBB

From scratch? Unless we're going to dedicate our entire time to that I don't think that's ever happening. Entire projects are dedicated to things like WYSIWYG editors so that should give you an idea of how complex it really is. If we ever had such a feature we would integrate an existing solution.

Re: [SPLIT] Ideas status

And maintained by the mod team?.. We haven't had a MOD Team in over 5 years... For example the excellent suggestion to replace ranks (been untouched for years and years) with badges, similar to other forum softwares like XF. You mean the one that's burried 6 pages deep into the Top Ideas list ? A d...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.3 Proteus Feature Release Published

Speaking of WordPress and the "awesome" auto-update feature... I just got a frantic email from a client saying that their board was down, which is odd because nothing's been touched on there. Apparently WP decided to auto-update itself and it just so happens that a custom extension on the board depe...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.3 Proteus Feature Release Published

I always find these Joomla and WordPress comparisons to phpBB rather odd. Other than the fact they all run on PHP they're not the same kind of system whatsoever. Also you'd be hard-pressed to find a free board software that does self-updates. 😉

Re: ACP and showing private message text

Indeed we accepted a MOD that allows for this functionality and we did so after some internal discussions about it. The decision would still stand today though so have at it. I would give you this one caution though: while we did accept such a MOD 10 years ago, a lot has changed since then. So I thi...

‼️ Extension naming policies update

Recently we have updated our extension naming policies to only allow alphanumeric lowercase characters for vendor/ext . If you're an extension author and your extension already complies with the updated policy, which is the case for most extensions, you have nothing to worry about. For those extensi...
